Hi guys. Please what are some cost saving techniques that have worked for you SPECIFICALLY in Nigeria? I wanna retweet for those who might need it. One example: drive a Toyota. It's almost going to be the cheapest to fuel and maintain in the long run.

21 years ago I named "Reddit" and everyone said it was a horrible name, but I insisted one day people would say "I read it on reddit" and used my CEO-privilege to overrule everyone + kept the name. Now the company twitter account (unbeknownst to them) is making the joke. Heh.
I'd tell you a joke, but you've probably already Reddit.

One month after launch, MTN made a decision that changed everything. They shipped out the South African team and let Nigerians run the business. Nigerian teams built it from 0 to 100 million subscribers. That's a 100% Nigerian success story and what happens when you trust local talent to build. Olu Akanmu, former CEO of Opay, breaks it all down.

Every prospective corps member who leaves home for orientation camp carries the hopes of a family and the trust of a nation that has called them to serve. That trust was broken on Thursday, October 1, 2026, when gunmen kidnapped our young graduates going from Ibadan to their orientation camps in Abia and Akwa Ibom States. My thoughts and prayers are with the parents, siblings and loved ones of these young Nigerians, who have spent every hour since that morning waiting anxiously for news of their children. I know that no words can ease the anguish of a mother who sent her child out to serve the nation, and I will not pretend that any statement can. Your children are our children, and their safe return is the single concern of everyone who works for the Nigerian youth today. I am encouraged that our security agencies are working in close coordination with the Oyo, Imo and Abia State Governments, as well as military and federal intelligence services, to bring every abducted corps member home safely. I am confident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has consistently placed the protection of Nigerian lives at the centre of his administration, will ensure that every necessary resource is committed to this rescue. I appeal to anyone with useful information to share it with the nearest security formation, and I urge the families to hold on to hope while the rescue effort continues. I equally call on community leaders and residents along the affected corridor to extend to our security agencies the cooperation that a successful rescue operation requires. I pray that Almighty God will keep these young Nigerians safe in His hands, grant them strength through this ordeal, and return them soon to the warm embrace of their families.

I fell in love with Olu Jacobs with the movie IJELE. I can't ever forget that movie. So it was with shaky lips that I produced this obituary report for @BBCNews Focus on Africa, for my beloved Uncle Olu Jacobs as he passed on to eternity. He will be remembered forever. See less

Debunking the Phantom Debts and Ecological Loan Fallacy My attention has been drawn to trending claims by the Anambra State Government that my administration left behind inherited debts, including a ₦2 billion ecological loan, contractor liabilities, and unpaid salaries, gratuities, and pensions. This is completely false. We systematically liquidated historical gratuities and arrears dating back several years, amounting to over ₦35 billion. At the point of handover, the state owed nothing in salaries, gratuities, or pensions, nor did we owe anything to any contractor for projects duly executed and certified. The ₦2 billion ecological fund in question was released barely three months before the end of my tenure for the Oko/Umuchiana erosion crisis. Despite pressure to spend the money, I refused, insisting that it should be left for my successor because government is a continuum and the funds were tied to a specific project. The money was therefore left 100 per cent intact in First Bank, in Account No. 2018779464, with a balance of over ₦2.13 billion. It is important to stress that funds tied to specific projects or set aside for particular purposes were not even included in the over ₦75 billion in savings we left behind. If anybody can establish anything to the contrary, I will stop campaigning. -PO

What Alex Onyia needs is financial support and not to be caged as Minister of any Education.
