ICYMI: Last week, a baby boy was safely surrendered under Daniel’s Law, South Carolina’s Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, at HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital in Dorchester County. He is the eleventh Daniel’s Law baby surrendered in the Palmetto State this year.

I’m proud to join my Senate colleagues in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment. The legacy that the Hyde Amendment created is one of hope and promise, with 2.6 million lives saved thanks to this legislation.
But the work did not stop 50 years ago, and it is not stopping today. Taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund abortions, and I will oppose any effort to do so.
My Democrat colleagues are determined to strip away the Hyde Amendment. On this 50th anniversary, I am committed to making sure that doesn't happen. Every life is valuable, and the government should not be paying for abortions.
