🚨BREAKING: The woman punched in the face at Trump’s Youngstown rally has filed a report seeking to press charges, and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating three men.
The woman was wearing a “Release the Epstein Files” shirt when she started shouting during the Oct. 12 rally at the Covelli Centre. Videos show three Trump supporters going after her, and at least one punched her in the face and pulled her hair, The Vindicator reports. Others can be seen restraining her as she was attacked. Deputies removed her. The Trump supporters were permitted to stay.
Trump stopped speaking, then said: “He’s a paid protester. They’re all paid.” He misidentified her gender and made fun of her weight. No evidence has been offered that she was paid. According to Newsweek, she told The New York Times that no organization coordinated or financed her appearance and (surprise) ordinary citizens can want powerful p*dophiles held accountable.
No arrests were made that night. Sheriff Jerry Greene said deputies didn’t see the assault and she hadn’t filed a report. His office then found her through social media and her if she would like to press charges. She said yes. As of Oct. 21, the sheriff said he’d identified three men, two from the area and one from New Jersey. The two area men want lawyers present for their interviews.
Separately, a man named Russell Dickert bragged that he and “a friend” named Gary his son Clint “subdued her and threw her to the concrete.” Dickert’s LinkedIn, located by Reich-Wing Watch, happened to list his residence in New Jersey. Police haven’t disclosed the identify of the three suspects they identified.
Prosecutor Lynn Maro said her office’s information indicates a misdemeanor assault, though Greene said the woman’s injuries could change that.
The woman has been identified as Blake Miley, 29. She’s represented by civil rights attorney Subodh Chandra. Whether to charge anyone is up to prosecutors.

Genau Putins Playbook.
Heftige Nacht in Kyiv. Zwei Wellen ballistischer Angriffe mit mind. 20 Raketen, abgefangen keine, da keine Patriot Abfangraketen vorhanden.

Breaking news: The US and Russia are discussing a potential return by American companies to the Russian oil market as part of wider talks to end Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine ft.trib.al/4gZrY6H

🇺🇲 🇷🇺 🇺🇦 The Lukoil deal was never a one-off. The FT now reports it sits inside a broader US-Russia list of "Business Deals."
The Financial Times reports that the US and Russia are discussing a possible return of American companies to the Russian oil market as part of talks to end the war in Ukraine. The FT says it obtained a lengthy written list of proposed deals.
According to the FT, the list includes a postwar joint venture for US oil majors off Sakhalin and a US role in Russian oil sales to Europe through the Druzhba pipeline. Outlets relaying the FT add partial Russian airspace transit for US airlines, titanium cooperation, gas to Europe through what remains of Nord Stream, and a sale of Lukoil's international assets to investors with White House ties.
That last item is the deal we flagged on October 3, after the New York Times reported Putin personally raised the Lukoil sale with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin on September 5. Today's report suggests that conversation was one line in a much larger commercial package running alongside the peace track.
The FT says the current talks build on proposals Witkoff and Kushner discussed with Kirill Dmitriev, Putin's special economic envoy, late last year, and that the push stalled as Ukraine resisted Russian demands for territorial concessions as a precondition for talks. One person briefed on the deals told the FT: "Dmitriev's plan was waiting until the war froze, but the clock is ticking and war is not stopping, so they have made a decision to move forward now."
A US official told the FT that envoys have discussed economic proposals with both sides, including a postwar framework for Ukraine and potential cooperation with Russia after the war. "Nothing is final," the official said.
The obstacles remain large. ExxonMobil, whose 30% Sakhalin-1 stake was seized, said last year it had no plans to return, per the FT. Rosneft and Lukoil remain under US sanctions imposed in October 2025, and any deal would depend on a settlement and sanctions relief.
The strategic question is sequencing. Moscow is offering Washington commercial upside before any ceasefire, while Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy grid continue. Earlier this month the Kremlin declined to comment on the Lukoil report but said energy cooperation is discussed with US negotiators. The Kremlin, the White House, Kyiv and the EU have not yet commented on the FT list.

🇺🇲 🇷🇺 SCOOP: Putin personally raised a multibillion-dollar Lukoil asset sale with Trump's own negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, at the Kremlin on September 5, as part of the same talks meant to end the Ukraine war. The NYT reports the deal is now moving forward, and the buyer group reads like a map of everyone with financial proximity to Trump's inner circle.
The lead investor is Todd Boehly, a $2 million Trump donor with no oil industry background. Alongside him: Qatar's Al-Khayyat brothers, who are simultaneously partnering with Kushner and Ivanka Trump on a luxury resort in Albania, and an Abu Dhabi fund controlled by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, the UAE's national security adviser, who separately made a $2 billion crypto purchase into World Liberty Financial, Trump's own crypto company co-founded by Witkoff, that generated Trump $799 million last year.
Sheikh Tahnoon is also a major stakeholder in Kushner's post-White House private equity firm. The same handful of people are buyers, business partners, and crypto investors with the Trump family, simultaneously, across three unrelated deals.
Witkoff's spokeswoman says he "has no conflict of interest and no financial stake in this matter." That may be technically true of Witkoff personally. It doesn't address why the people sitting across the table from him in these Ukraine negotiations are the same people building luxury resorts and buying crypto stakes with his son and his negotiating partner's son-in-law.
The strategic logic the administration is citing isn't fabricated, Lukoil's European refineries produce diesel and jet fuel that have been scarce since the Iran war drove up prices, the same shortage we've tracked affecting gas prices and midterm politics for weeks. U.S. approval would also instantly increase the assets' value by lifting sanctions, a direct financial windfall for whichever buyer group wins, timed to the exact administration deciding whether to grant that approval.
The bidding history shows how contested this prize already was before politics entered it. Treasury rejected Gunvor's bid outright in November specifically over its Russia ties. Carlyle had a "nonexclusive" deal since January that simply stalled, administration approval never came, until Boehly's group, with its web of Trump-adjacent investors, emerged as the frontrunner instead. Hui Chen, a former DOJ prosecutor, called the entanglement "alarming," asking the question that actually matters: whether personal interests are shaping which bidder wins, not whether the deal itself has legitimate strategic value.
@anneapplebaum 's framing is sharper than "conflict of interest" because it names the mechanism rather than just the appearance: Putin raising a deal that personally enriches people in Trump's orbit, during active negotiations over a war Russia is still waging, with US policy response visibly muted while Russian strikes on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure escalate.
Whether or not any law is broken, Applebaum's point is that the incentive structure itself, a Russian president offering access to wealth to the exact people negotiating peace terms, doesn't require explicit payment to function as leverage. It only requires the other side to have something to gain from staying quiet.
This is also the fourth story in a month tracing wealthy, Russia-or-Gulf-linked figures into Trump's immediate orbit, after Kremlev's wedding gift, the A7 sanctions-evasion network, and Sokolov's Armenia mine deal. The pattern isn't one scandal, but a recurring structure.

This year, Ukraine’s positions on the front remain stronger than they have been in a long time during this war. If our partners’ support for Ukraine remained just as strong – particularly when it comes to Patriots and other air defense capabilities – Ukraine would be in a much better position diplomatically as well. Just now, in October alone – since October 14 – there have already been several Russian ballistic missile attacks. Essentially, in two weeks, more than 100 ballistic missiles have been launched against Kyiv and the region. Unfortunately, there are significant restrictions on supplies, with air defense packages being delayed. I want to thank all our partners who provide their support on time.
