All roads lead to Rome. Although some enjoy debating the merits of one standard versus the other, I agree that these academic discussions distract from the practical imperative that we create more energy efficient buildings. Press toward the mark. Thanks for the summary Adam. – at Ottawa, Ontario
The public space elves have been busy again in New Edinburgh at the intersection of River Lane, Dufferin Road and Stanley Avenue in Ottawa... Take a book. Share a book. @LtlFreeLibrary littlefreelibrary.org – at Ottawa, Ontario

Hello 15 Dufferin Road: my fifth Passive House, (finally) certified by both @PHIUS1 and @the_iPHA (almost three years after occupancy). Why bother with the additional cost and administration? So I can speak to the differences between the processes based on first hand experience. – at Ottawa, Ontario

Trees are (finally) being planted for the @NCC_CCN in the public space between Stanley Avenue and River Lane to replace those that have been falling for over a decade. Thanks to @New_Edinburgh for their endorsement of this initiative and @TeamTobi_Ott for shepherding the process.

I would have thought the 13 yellow and blue flags between Stanley Avenue and River Lane were locating water and gas lines for some future dig if was less familiar with the effort that has gone into encouraging the @NCC_CCN to plant this little triangle of public space with trees.

Bordeleau Park dock on the Rideau River
No. Not at the cottage. This public dock is in Lowertown’s Bordeleau Park, right across the Rideau River from Stanley Park in New Edinburgh. This great @ottawacity facility provides excellent access to one of the three important watercourses around which our city was founded.

#TavernOnTheFalls This looks promising... I’ll have one “Backyard Dawg” and a Kitchessipi please.

I’m looking forward to enjoying a snack, a refreshment and one of Ottawa’s great views from a publicly owned space in New Edinburgh that has been hidden behind chain link fence for way too long. Cheers! xitter.gq/bitemeottawa/status/10… – at Ottawa, Ontario

Kudos to the @NCC_CCN arborist that took the time to give new life to something lost. It’s little things like this that make ordinary public spaces exceptional. (I hope I haven’t caused someone working within a bureaucratic beast to get censured for working inefficiently.)

Enjoyed presenting on how to create #10minuteneighbourhoods at the @IMCLconference in #ottcity today. Here's a distillation:

How many more sleeps until Tavern on the Falls opens? Sunsets over the Ottawa River to the sound of Rideau Falls and and lively conversation fuelled by EtOH and tube steaks. tavernonthehillottawa.com
