Western North Carolina’s recovery is about more than rebuilding what was damaged by Hurricane Helene. It’s about building a stronger economic future for the region for the long haul. The WNC Economic Recovery Plan is built around the priorities of communities across western North Carolina and brings together the resources needed to turn those priorities into lasting progress. The people of western North Carolina have shown incredible resolve, and our job is to match their grit and keep doing our part to help the region recover and build for the future.

Ireland is one of our top trading partners and is now a direct flight away from both Raleigh and Charlotte. I spent the past few days visiting Ireland-based companies that do business in North Carolina to discuss opportunities to build on our relationships and ways to bring Irish visitors to our state. North Carolina’s partnership with Ireland is strong and steadfast, grounded in our shared democratic values. Today, nearly 50 Irish companies employ more than 7,000 North Carolinians, and I’m optimistic that the deep partnership between North Carolina and Ireland will grow even stronger.
