This is how you build big hamstrings at home. No equipment needed. Just kneel on a pillow and hook your feet under a piece of heavy furniture. Put additional weight on it if necessary. Building up to a proper Nordic curl without any arm assistance will take a long time, so I recommend the following progression: At first, use your full palms to push yourself off the floor. Once that becomes easy, push with just your fingertips. Then, start subtracting fingers one by one. The fewer fingers you use, the less your arms will be able to help. I'm currently down to using just my thumbs, and feel I'm getting close to getting my first unassisted Nordic curl. For fast progress, do four sets of ten reps every other day. Use your arms only as much as you need to help you complete the movement. The last reps should be hard and slow ("grinders"). Final note: You can also do this exercise by having a training partner hold your ankles down or sit on your heels, but I don't recommend this, as that makes you dependent on another person for your training, and that will mess with your consistency.

Today, the calendar makes a right triangle, for the last time this century. This Saturday is October 24, 2026. Write it as 10/24/26 or 24/10/26, and the same beautiful relationship appears: 10² + 24² = 26² 100 + 576 = 676 But here’s what makes today special. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples. Only a handful fit our calendar. Using the rule month² + day² = (last two digits of the year)², the month cannot exceed 12, and the day cannot exceed 31. Those small limits leave exactly 12 qualifying dates in this century. Today is the last. The next will be March 4, 2105: 3² + 4² = 5² That is a wait of more than 78 years. An infinite family of triangles. Just twelve appearances on a century’s calendar. Happy Pythagorean Triple Day.

Now THIS is history 😂

America didn't just steal the West from Mexico. We reached an agreement for it. Mexico's government was crashing. Their budget was 8 million pesos. Their expenses were 26 million pesos. This was obviously unsustainable. The US offered to buy the land for what was worth $636 million in today's dollars. We also assumed all U.S. Citizen debts owed by Mexico (worth about $140 million today). Yes, we had defeated Mexico, and could easily have seized the land. BUT WE DIDN'T. We paid for it. Six years later, Mexico wanted more money, so we made the Gadsden purchase which got us southern Arizona & New Mexico. This was another $350 million in modern value for land no one lived on. Eventually we got Tucson out of it. So next time some activist tells you we "stole" land from Mexico, here is chapter and verse. 1) The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was legally binding. Mexico signed it. 2) we paid for the land when Mexico needed the income. The purchased land was in fact a major drain on Mexico's finances, and it was a relief to the Mexican government to offload it back then. No doubt there is seller's regret now. 3) it was also paid for in blood.

I had 23 acres of N.TX hillside that I was honestly going to attempt a castle/bunker style co-op community but I screwed up some financial planning and the IRS @IRSnews essentially screwed me over.... Looks bomb though!
He’s literally carving a hidden storage room out of solid rock for his family! 🪨 Would you have the patience to build something like this?

No wonder Keanu Reeves chose Alexandra Grant, People always say Alexandra looks a decade older than him, but I think this thinking itself is wrong. Keanu is 61 and Alexandra is 50, just a 9-year age gap. In Hollywood, it's so hard to find such an age-appropriate couple, and no one talks about that. I feel the reason is very simple. Keanu is the most grounded, coolest and selfless person in Hollywood. He takes the subway, wears old clothes, never puts on an A-list celebrity act. And he chose a woman with substance - an artist. Alexandra is the same. Simple and sophisticated. She doesn't hide her grey hair, doesn't hide her wrinkles, no plastic surgery. There is nothing artificial about her. This authenticity is exactly what Keanu needed. And secondly, she accepts Keanu with his pain. Any other girlfriend would have a problem if her partner couldn't let go of his past, but Alexandra understands his pain. For me, age is just a number, soul matters. If they are happy together, we should be happy for them too. They are not together to please anyone else, they are comfortable in their own skin. That's REAL. They are a perfect couple.

Given that history, a number of people over time have said I should have ended up a serial killer. Instead I became a writer, which is about three steps down. But there's still time...the dream remains....

Scientists are losing their minds over this paper. They proved every mitochondria in your body is a tiny quantum device running at 71 THz. And it responds to light. Researchers detected a mysterious 71.0-terahertz vibration signal. this frequency is only present in healthy, living cells and tissues. exact moment the cell dies or the mitochondrial structures are broken apart, the signal vanishes completely. How does this happen? Classical physics has always struggled to explain the high energy-efficiency of life. So the team built a quantum model of light-matter coupling and discovered something called a "mito-polariton". It is a literal quantum superposition state that forms when light couples with lipid ch2 bonds inside functional mitochondria. This quantum resonance splits the intrinsic vibration mode into two levels, creating that bizarre 71 thz frequency that you only see in living things. Why does this matter? Because this quantum state actually acts as a highly efficient channel to modulate atp production in living cells. our bodies literally use quantum mechanics to generate the energy that keeps us alive.

Now this is what really hits the hammer... @LizAnnSonders great point. I need to be producing in my age! All that FIRE stuff might be bullshit and undermining the values that build the critical infrastructure a country demands
Most people get majority of income from selling their labor, however, that type of income has been declining as % of all personal income (long-term trend dating back to 1960s); in addition to wages, Americans now receive significant income from investments, rental properties, and government transfers like Social Security … suggests Fed’s inflation-fighting tools may become less effective (slowing economy via tighter monetary policy doesn’t work as well when people have substantial non-job income) @EPBResearch @JohnFMauldin

This is so on point @JohnLeFevre 😂 Although the fancy cars seem these days to think they own the road until they get a little too close for comfort
Things you learn in Texas: 1. The guy in the F-150 is worth a lot more than the dude in a Mercedes. 2. The small business owner from a state school is smarter than the majority of Ivy League grads. 3. There’s more racism in Connecticut country clubs than in rural honky-tonks. 4. Rednecks are more honorable than investment bankers. 5. The man who looks like he can’t afford the tab could buy the building. 6. They don’t ask for a deck before the meeting. 7. Prep school is where they send the problem kids. 8. If he’s wearing dusty boots, a 2XL Magellan shirt, a gold Rolex, and has a bulletproof case on his iPhone 12, you’ve already lost the negotiation. 9. “How’s business?” is a real question. “What do you do?” is a New York question. 10. Tips are bigger and egos are smaller. 11. A handshake still closes deals that a term sheet would kill. 12. The wealth is in real estate, oil, or a company nobody in Manhattan has ever heard of. 13. Your wife or daughter will never struggle finding help to change a tire. 14. Nobody asks where you went to college. 15. A weekend invitation to their ranch makes you part of the family.
