Nike After Dark Tour - Los Angeles half marathon (13.1 miles, minimum distance to call a marathon) done ✅ That was a great race to return to running (I seriously retired from running, I guess this is a comeback lol)

Terrible!!

This week marks the return of Open Streets season in Montreal, featuring some of the best pedestrian streets in North America. It’s a powerful example of what’s possible when we prioritize people over automobiles on even just a small fraction of our streets. 📍 Montreal 🇨🇦

What began as a pilot 10 years ago has become one of Boston’s most beloved traditions. Open Newbury Street brings together residents, families, and visitors, supports local commerce, and has helped reshape conversations around how we allocate space on our urban streets.

and WHY do we love narrow streets so much? Because we unconsciously perceive wide streets like the Swedish cartoonist Karl Jilg does here: extremely perilous space, especially for young children. Very narrow streets mean slow vehicle speeds, smaller vehicles, maybe people using golf carts instead of carts ... safe, slow transport.
Philly would be a top 5 city if the whole place looked like this

It's impressive how quickly Paris has transformed car-dominant roads, prioritising more efficient modes of transportation. One lane for drivers on the right side, made to wallow in their own stop-and-start inefficiency, two giant lanes for bikes.
