GTA is so close to release now and I've still not seen a single thing that would make that game exciting or fun to play. I feel like I'm having a mental breakdown, how is everyone so insanely hyped for something that looks so generic and boring

People are so delusional when it comes to Fallout holy shit. There's not a single game in the franchise where your character doesn't have a lot set up about them before you gain control, yet so many people say we need to return to the blank slate protags. Something we never had

Even worse when using it to shit on 4 while lifting NV up on its piedestal. Like the courier has way more lore than the sole survivor! And the sole survivor has a great reason to be very different than before because nothing they know of the world applies anymore.

The courier "just" got shot in the head, which is an injury people sustain on the daily in the wasteland

Only just got around to trying Marin and honestly? If she gets an interesting augment she may just be my second favorite frame in the game! Goddamn is she so fun!

Just found this random clip of NorthernLion and thought it was quite humorous. Unrelated
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes people owning RAM is wasteful, and that it belongs in data centers instead. "From a global allocation perspective, actually, it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."

Traditionally, the butch was responsible for captaining a constitution-class starship on its five year mission and exploring complex ethical issues while the femme serves as first officer, with distinctive pointed ears and cunty blue eye shadow, providing a logical counterpoint

I've been laying in bed, crying my eyes out and watching all the clips people have been posting of Sir Patrick Stewart... It's over midnight and I don't know how I'll ever fall asleep. Safe journey to the beyond my captain

I want to remind that, despite billions of sessions and hundreds of terabytes worth of data over half a decade, generative AI tools have produced at most five (5) culturally significant works. All of AI's "contributions" are things humans can do better with less effort and time.
β€œWell Generative AI is here now so we might as well-..” WE HAD LIVES BEFORE GENERATIVE AI. COOL THINGS WERE MADE WITHOUT GENERATIVE AI FOR DECADES

You’re not gonna believe this but Paul was ALSO the bad guy in the book Chani being rewritten from a submissive colonized woman to an actual character with depth and convictions is a massive improvement and we need to stop pretending that the entirety of the Dune books have aged well. They haven’t. And Denis’ interpretation and reinvention of Chani’s character is an unequivocal improvement and thinking otherwise just reads as a dislike for women characters having autonomy and nuance in writing.
While I'm Duneposting, I'm gonna say something a lot of post-COVID Dune 'fans' don't want to hear: Chani's rewrites in the new Dune movies don't make Paul the bad guy. Nothing about Paul's motivations or the enemies he fights changed, nor did anything about the existential threats mankind faces in the novels for which the Golden Path is necessary. Paul still overthrows a corrupt empire. He's still opposed by degenerate pedophile cannibals. The Fremen people were still oppressed and lead to freedom by Paul. He's objectively a morally righteous hero. The Landsraad refusing to accept his rule necessitates the war, and his slaughter of his enemies is entirely justified. Chani being against this doesn't make her the good guy who recognizes Paul has fallen. It turns her from his strongest supporter in the novels to a bitter malcontent who refuses to accept change and her people's freedom. Who would turn on her lover for her own selfish desires and views rather than embracing the bigger picture like she does in the novels. Villeneuve claimed it made Chani the real hero, but he turned her into a villain. Though honestly, such a character is a perfect role for Zendaya. It fits her personality.
