LONG POST ALERT 🚨🚨
I HOPE YOU'LL READ AND EVEN CONSIDER SHARING
On November 24, 2023, I heard the words that most truly kinda fear -
‘Yes, it’s cancer’
and, in that moment, everything I thought to be important changed .. it’s like Charlie Brown in school, there’s talking, and I wasn’t hearing a word - I must’ve been in shock
Thankfully, where I happen to live in Massachusetts, there is some of the very Best Healthcare in the US, and I’m blessed to have true heavy hitters at MGH - the Mass General Hospital, leading my care team .. I’m really very lucky (says the guy with the cancer diagnosis 😂)
In my case, I have a first degree family history of prostate cancer, so it’s something my Doc and I have been following since my mid/late 40s, with annual PSA tests
While this diagnosis shouldn’t have stunned me, you’ll have to trust me, nothing prepares you to hear those words
With my oncology Team, we decided to pursue a treatment pathway of 28 daily radiation sessions, and 24 months of hormone therapy, vs surgery
So, in April and May of 2024, I underwent 28 days of radiation treatments .. once completed, the radiation oncologist felt confident enough to say that he thought I was likely ‘cancer free’ - music to my ears .. as he’d delivered exactly the amount of radiation he wanted, to the exact spots where he was aiming .. in July 2025, I had a full set of (body) scans performed, and it affirmed his conclusion - I’d be lying to say that I wasn’t in tears that day
But, why this post
Well, the ‘hormone therapy’ will be completed this Saturday evening .. I’ve been taking pills every night for the past 2 years like a drill sergeant - never missing a dose, almost always 2hrs after eating which was what the Doc ordered .. that all ends with the last set of pills tomorrow night .. AND, I’ll finally add ‘cancer survivor’ to my X profile
This has been a LONG ROAD .. I’ll be fine .. the cure rates are very high .. I'm eternally grateful to my doctors, and my family and friends who’ve been there throughout
Lastly, my name is Greg, and I’m a 64yr old guy splitting my time between the Northshore of Boston and the Gulf Coast of Florida .. ‘Clam’ is just a fun name, that I hope you find amusing, too
I’m a golfing knucklehead, just having fun, and I’ll play in ANY Prostate Cancer Foundation (@PCFnews) benefit, anytime .. my Club in Florida hosts a tournament every March, and I’ve played the last few - finished 2nd last year .. PCF is a fantastic organization, and it is the leader in pushing scientific research forward
EVERY MAN SHOULD GET HIS PSA CHECKED ANNUALLY DURING THEIR PHYSICAL EXAM .. I’M LIVING PROOF THAT THIS IS SURVIVABLE .. AND IF YOU’RE GOING TO GET A CANCER DIAGNOSIS, THIS IS THE ONE TO GET .. THERE ARE OVER 300,000 NEW DIAGNOSES EVERY YEAR IN THE US .. 1 in 8 MEN WILL BE DIAGNOSED IN THEIR LIFETIME

Initial post game thoughts:
Georgia
Just a tough one. No easy way to say it. Yes, absolutely a missed call at the end there. But good teams don’t allow the refs to be involved at the end of the game.
On some levels, gotta tip the cap to Kirby and Georgia, that’s a super good team that walked into a hostile environment and played well enough to win.
Thought bama played good enough to win as well. Loved the confidence from the coaching staff at the end of the first half.
I’ll have to watch the replay, but run defense left a lot to be desired between the 20’s. Thought there were some opportunities to dial up pressure on Stockton. He was obviously rattled after getting hit. Missed chance there to potentially force bad throws.
Can’t do anything about it now. And can’t go 15-1 without losing a heart breaker to Georgia
Tennessee, you’re next

I Hate The University of Georgia Bulldogs. All Of My Homies Hate The University of Georgia Bulldogs.
A man boards a plane and sits next to a stunningly beautiful woman.
After small talk, she admits she is being treated for a sex addiction. “I’m doing great,” she says. “My only remaining issue is I can’t seem to resist cowboys and Italian men.”
The man looks at her and nods empathetically.
“By the way,” she says, “I never caught your name.”
“Big Tex Marciano. Great to meet you.”
