Should I do another thread explaining how the rebirth (and eventual taking over of the industry) of superheroes had almost nothing to do with the comics code?
96%Yeah, show ‘em
4%Enough! Shut up already

Who else noticed that these guys are completely full of shit and just say whatever is in their best interest in the moment?😂
The hypocrisy from every single made guy on this show is staggering. They will preach about the code, honor, and rules, and then do or say the exact opposite the literal second it becomes convenient for them😂
Junior acts like an old-school purist looking totally disgusted and telling Big Pussy that running away from federal authority is a total embarrassment to the family because "we stand and take it"
Yet the second the FBI shows up, the old man drops his dignity, leaves everyone behind, and run to the car like a track star😂 Hearing Bobby yell, "Junior! Don't leave me!" is really one crazy funny moment considering Junior is supposed to be the senior citizen here😂
And don't even get me started on Richie playing the moral authority on domestic abuse. He acts all righteous by cornering Christopher outside the Bing and threatening to cut his throat if he ever raises his hand to Adriana again before they're married, trying to look like a protective uncle.
But then fast forward to dinner at the house, and the second Janice challenges his authority over Jackie Jr.'s career, Richie defaults to pure violence and punches Janice in the face😂 Well, he found out the hard way that you don't mess with a Soprano🥲

This is a wonderful example of why Batman is a great character and why he's so appealing.

I fundamentally disagree with the premise of the question.
Actual fans have never been "toxic."
That concept and perspective is an invention of the internet by non-fans, and/or people inside certain companies that are also not fans of the IP or those that love them. It doesn't come from fans.
Also.
It's the people that are part of the Cult of Director™ sphere that tend to be the most combative, (some of which are programmed bots from the director themselves) not actual comic book fans.
No one that's an actual fan of Superman wants to see him be anything less than Superman.
It's the people who HATE him who do that. By definition, not fans.
For all the talk of kids preferring manga to American comics, I actually very rarely see kids in the manga section of the bookstore. Mostly older teenagers/younger twenties. Judging by my kids’ classes, Dogman and Diary of a Wimpy Kid are the real kids’ comics these days
My favorite Batman story is “The Batman Nobody Knows.” Bruce Wayne is with some kids that tell stories of what they think Batman is like. At the end, Bruce shows them the real Batman and they all laugh. It ends with Batman glad the Batman scares the guilty, but not the innocent.
The conceptual contrast is what makes it interesting to me. Batman dresses like a vampire to frighten criminals, but he's a kindhearted man. Superman is an alien who can punch a planet in half, but he's a gentle guy from Kansas. Likewise, I find Diana being a runway model princess who's also a formidable combatant far more interesting than simply looking like a hardened warrior because she is one. IMO, the former makes a statement that you don't have to sacrifice femininity to be strong. And that's exactly what I want from a character called Wonder Woman.
It’s kind of weird how the Borg are considered the defining Next Generation enemy, but they only appeared in five episodes (six if you count the Hugh episode). Q, Lwaxana, Worf’s brother Mog, even Gowron appeared in more episodes than the Borg did.
Another thing I learned from DC Finest is that a lot of Hal Jordan fans complain that Denny O’Neil ruined Hal Jordan. But he was written as an aimless drifter before GL/GA including stories written by John Broome and Gardner Fox
Reading a bunch of DC Finest and really surprised to see Denny O’Neil showing up in a lot of them. He wrote several GL stories before his GL/GA run, a few Flash, and a bunch of stories from the various team-up books. Way more than just a Batman guy
My personal thought is that Deanna Troi, instead of being the ship’s counselor, should have been the ship’s ambassador. now she’s a civilian so her cheerleader outfits make sense (kind of), she contributes diplomacy, and she can have conflict with the military aspect of Starfleet
I always thought of Prog Rock as the sci-fi genre. It’s all nerds writing 25 minute, 5 movement songs about galactic empires. But yes Power Metal is absolutely the fantasy genre

Welp.
I am constantly amazed at the way they don't seem to understand their audience. Geeks are generational. We love to pass on our love for the comics to the next generation.
But what do we have to pass on now?
Peacemaker and Lanterns?🤨
I just want everyone to know I could never actually fight with @DT2ComicsChat. We might have the occasional slight disagreement, but he’s just too right about too many things for me to ever actually engage in any kind of maliciousness.
I’m not really a toy guy, but this is amazing

The reason American comics are in trouble is because 40 years ago they told the 8 year old fans to go die and now there are no new fans at all.
