A disastrous decision by the @AmerChemSociety and @RoySocChem: removing graphical abstracts from ASAP articles. Bring them back!
❗New ChemRxiv❗A Nitrogen atom insertion strategy into benzimidazoles that lifts a longstanding bottleneck in the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazines. This work highlights the potential of Skeletal Editing as a powerful synthetic tool for accessing rare heterocyclic scaffolds.

Catalytic C-Demethylation of Phenols and Anilines Enabled by a Removable Mono-Directing Group. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jac…
Pyridine is the common starting material for these four products. Can you identify the original fragment they all come from?

Out today in ChemRxiv, we report the synthesis of 1,2-diazepines-fused β-lactams under gentle photochemical activation. Commercially available 1-aminopyridinium iodide can be directly engaged in a one-pot sequence. KUDOS to Jules for his dedication!

Improving the Photochemical Skeletal Enlargement of Pyridines to 1,2-Diazepines with Isocyanates (Xavier Moreau and co-workers) onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
What happens when you mix carboxylic acids and pyridines? Acid-base reaction? You are only partially right. Check our latest article, isocyanates can greatly enhance the photochemical expansion of pyridines to 1,2-diazepines! @ILV_UMR8180 @XMoreau_ILV

We have two PhD positions available in the group! Please feel free to spread the word, and if you are a researcher excited about catalysis with MOFs or transition metal phosphides, we would love to hear from you!

ALT The images describe two PhD positions available in the Neumann Group at the Max-Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung. One position is in the field of MOF catalysis, and the other in the field of catalysis with transition metal phosphides. More information about the positions will soon be available under https://www.kofo.mpg.de/863280/Job-Advertisements
