📣 First screening of People's Emergency Briefing in a national parliament!
The film was shown at Holyrood last night. Grateful to First Minister John Swinney for committing to helping ensure it is “shared and understood very widely within Scotland”.

“Hope comes from honesty.” Our screenings show this: 87% of survey respondents leave more motivated to act.
Prime Minister, will you join a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing to see what trusting the public with the full picture can achieve?

We can't carry on as we are.
Politics as usual has taken Britain backwards, and more of the same won't get us where we need to be.
Today, I'll set out a different path for our country.
That means having an honest conversation about the things we've ignored for too long, from fixing social care and tackling youth unemployment to giving people more control over energy, water and housing.
Hope comes from honesty.
It comes from saying the things politicians usually avoid, being straight about the challenges we face, and having the courage to fix them.
That's exactly what I will do.

Sigh. The claim that Democrats should drop climate as an issue is wrong.
1) It is dumb to drop a platform that the majority support and that your opponent is absolutely terrible on.
2) We do need to get to net zero now in order to halt heating at a relatively safe level.

He's too modest to say, but Andrew Dessler has led and coordinated a full-court scientific response to that execrable, climate-denying "report" from the DOE.
It was a massive effort, accomplished in mere weeks.
And the response itself is of historic importance, because...

Shell and other fossil-fuel companies have abandoned the Science Based Targets initiative—a six-year-long attempt to define a global, corporate “net zero” emissions strategy—after being told that such a standard would require them to stop developing new oil and gas fields.

Whales are an important part of our oceans ecosystem and need protection.
