Two days after the 2014 Indyref Gordon Brown claimed papers were being drawn up that would give Scotland "Home Rule". It was a lie. It will be a lie when Andy Burnham promises 'Home Rule'.
They've taken back powers since 2014 through Brexit and the UK Internal Market Act.
This has nothing to do with Parliament. It wasn't public money. I hope SNP members force a proper independently led internal investigation into how this was covered up; including stopping several treasurers and the National Executive Committee from carrying out basic scrutiny.
First Minister John Swinney has told parliament he will not back an inquiry into the embezzlement of SNP finances by Peter Murrell holyrood.com/news/view,john-…

Starmer is leading a zombie Labour Party. If he stays, the rot deepens. If he goes, Reform will tear through whoever replaces him. From Brexit and Boris Johnson to Labour offering more of the same, Westminster is in a death spiral. Scotland needs independence.
This only works if their advice is to set out a clear timetable for an imminent @UKLabour leadership contest.

A senior Labour figure texts about PM: “He doesn’t get it. He takes responsibility like my kids take responsibility for leaving towels on the floor of the bathroom, they say sorry then do the same thing the next day”
PM interview. How was Starmer? Pretty resolute and unbending
- When asked if 1/ He was Labour's problem, 2/ Is taking responsibility resigning, 3/Is he handing the country to Reform by staying as PM, he had one consistent answer: "I am not going to walk away and plunge the country into chaos". This I read as a clear, and rather defiant message, to those who are privately saying he has to go, basically he's saying come and try it and then see what comes next. There was a bloody minded steeliness in him today
- And as for succession. He also clear he is NOT setting out any timetable to stand down: I will fight the next general election.
- How did he seem? Clearly wanted to show he was putting up fight & listening to activists. He told them it was tough and essentially said he had to better.
But in tone during the interview, he also seemed quite tense and was batting away the Qs with his message to MPs and the party, with little acknowledgement of the predicament he's in. I imagine some MPs will be frustrated and think he doesn't get it - he's going to be doing more in coming days to convince them he does

For those confused by this easy to follow, well written @OutForIndy pledge, it basically says the signatories will not be bigots, will not discriminate against others from different walks of life, & will fight to protect the rights of the vulnerable & marginalised in society.
If your @theSNP candidate has signed this word-salad pledge, ask them what they think it actually means.
.@STrayn0r has been a fantastic Councillor. A real strong voice and local champion for her constituents and as a local resident and voter, I will feel my interests and those of my family are very well represented when she wins in Dumbarton.

Just pointing out that I broke the story 7 months ago that Mandelson failed vetting from the security services and put it to Downing Street...so the idea that Downing Street only found out on Tuesday is complete nonsense.

You know how, in the aftermath of Mandelsons sacking as US ambassador, a succession of Labour cabinet ministers from the PM down blamed the vetting for his original appointment
Turns out it wasn't the vetting. Mandelson failed the vetting. Labour were lying (again)

If Labour wanted to draw a line under this Anas Sarwar could say that if his only path to Bute House was dependent on the votes of Reform MSPs then he would not put himself forward as a candidate for First Minister.
He won’t say that because he can’t - it’s his only path.

Chuck Morris didn't die. He levelled up to 86 and decided to try the expansion pack. End of an era. Rest in peace.

At the time of writing, there were five political parties between 10-25% in a Westminster voting intention poll. FPTP is dead; and if Starmer doesn't want to be the one responsible for Reform getting >50% of MPs with <30% of votes, he has to call a referendum on PR voting.
