Rubanga Co-operative Society Ltd

Earlier today, @RubangaCoffee flagged off a cohort of 50 young women trained in coffee roasting and barista skills. A very important step towards putting value addition in the hands of young people and growing Uganda’s domestic coffee consumption. Delivered by @volcanocoffee1 under the leadership of Uganda’s senior coffee roaster @GKatabazi, The young women were also introduced to the Ethiopian model of accessible, small-scale coffee roasting, demonstrating that value addition does not always have to begin with multimillion shilling equipment. Sometimes, it can begin with a charcoal stove, a pan, coffee beans and the right skills. By lowering the cost of roasting, we can lower the cost of a cup of coffee, stimulate local consumption and create realistic business opportunities for young women across the coffee value chain. This initiative is Implemented under the #EYE_CProject with support from aBi Development. @DESIREtheFARMER
