At this point, a unicameral MN makes a ton of sense. Why have parties when we have one party?
We did it for most of the 20th century. Just elect the best person for the job.

Montana voters approved a ballot measure to ban corporations, nonprofits and labor unions from doing business in the state if they made political contributions. State's rights v. Citizens United. Will be fun to see SCOTUS deal with that one. Bravo Montana!!!

This party over country shit must stop. Enough talking about it. Let's do it.
Anyone else notice lots of lights off in the neighborhood last night w no candy?
There's a story there.
Listen to Chip!! This is as sharp a message as I've heard. He's a friend and sharp political thinker.
Take a few minutes and hear this man out about democracy and our elections.

I’m against all of these.
The new force in politics and elections is independents.
The fact independents are NOT an organized party, means we can individually do what we think is right, without regard to party politics. That is a force we have not seen before. And it is only growing as we all become increasingly disgusted by party politics.
Pushing these would backfire on Democrats.
My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

7 More Days!
Running for office has been like coaching two consecutive seasons. Very similar competitive rhythms. I get why other coaches have transitioned into public life.
I don't get to yell back at people as much as I could on the sidelines though. I miss that. 🙃
This is why a small number of Independents can fundamentally change legislative bodies.

It is amazing how contribution limits to candidates keep big money out of politics.
It’s worth mentioning that the hurdle used to be 5%, but the two parties changed the law in 2024 to make it harder for 3rd parties.

8% could change Minnesota politics.
If Jay Reeves earns 8% of the vote for State Auditor, Forward Independence gains major-party status in Minnesota.
Nearly a third of likely Minnesota voters identify as independents. Many don’t fit neatly into either major party, yet they’re often left without a political option that reflects their views.
Imagine a Minnesota where voters have another choice, candidates have another path, and political decisions aren’t dictated by party lines.
A different choice starts with the voters. And 8% could be the beginning.

10% of voters. 95% of the legislature. That's not democracy.

For independents the untold story of this election cycle is how hard the parties make it to get in a ballot. The fact that both parties actively work to deny citizens their civil rights should be disqualifying enough for no one to ever support either one of them again.
You're in my district and always popping up on my feed. Can we talk?

The organization led by this man, Asad Aliweyd, who led Wednesday’s press conference regarding Somali youth gang violence, is currently paying back $1.1 million to Minnesota’s Edu Dept that was deemed in civil court to be fraudulently obtained in the pandemic meal fraud scheme.
Love this organization! They're doing great work for America and I'm extremely proud of this endorsement, proud to stand with other veterans that are tired of partisanship, and excited to run strong down the stretch.
ENDORSED: Army veteran Kris Babler for Minnesota State Senate, District 49.
Minnesota’s Senate is split 34 to 33. An independent who answers to Eden Prairie and Minnetonka, not a caucus.

What if the biggest story of 2026 isn’t whether independent candidates win — but what they’re building even if they lose?
Across the country, campaigns are creating networks, organizing voters and laying infrastructure that could outlast Election Day.
