OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR JACK REED
Senator Reed, 10-19-26
This open letter isn't about me. The campaign is coming to an end very soon; my candidacy has been ineffective, and that falls totally on me. I am also quite sure that this email will have no effect on this race or how people in Rhode Island see you. I am just praying that this letter may have some influence on how you and the other congressional delegation members from Rhode Island vote on military aid to Israel and on the grossly excessive military spending.
I am also praying that media members report the correlation between money and
how members vote on military aid to any foreign country.
Your record on Gaza arms sales is public, as is your history of campaign donations.
- You have been in Congress for almost 36 years
- On the Senate Armed Services Committee for almost 28 years
- By April 2024, it was reported that Israel had already killed more than
34,000 Gazans in response to the attack on October 7, 2023. Many were
women and children.
- Yet still in April 2024, you voted for a 26.4-billion-dollar aid package for
Israel.
- Three months later, in July 2024, you condemned what Israel was doing in
Gaza.
- But in November 2024, on S.J. Res. 111 & 113, you refused to block any part
of a $20 billion arms sale to Israel. By then, about 44,000 Gazans had been
killed, and over 13,000 of them were children.
- On April 3, 2025, on S.J. Res. 26 & 33, you voted against a resolution to
block about $8.8 billion in bombs — 2,000- and 500-lb bombs — and
munitions, so the sale went through.
- On July 30, 2025, on S.J. Res. 34, you refused to vote to block a $675.7
million sale of bombs to Israel, so the sale went through. By the end of July, it
was reported that about 60,000 Gazans had been killed.
- By January 2025, the U.S. had supplied over $42 billion in aid and arms sales
to Israel.
- Now about 74,000 Gazans are dead — including roughly 22,000 children
and 12,000 women, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. More than 1,100
of those children have lost limbs.
- You have raised millions of dollars just in this cycle — much of it from out of
state.
- According to OpenSecrets, you have received over $400,000 from pro-Israel
groups and supporters in this cycle.
- Over your career, you have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from
defense contractors and their employees.
It seems Eisenhower's warning about the military-industrial complex has been
ignored.
You rightly blame Trump for the war in Iran, but Congress needs to accept
responsibility for supplying Israel the bombs they dropped on Gaza and the
weapons that fed the wider conflict.
Between defense contractors and pro-Israel donors, do you think term limits and
campaign finance reform could loosen their grip on our democracy?
I have tried and failed to convince you (through your staff), WPRI, and WJAR to
have a conversation face to face, again, that is on, me. My hope was to shine some
light on what the United States and Israel have done to the people of Gaza.
My hope is that this letter may have some effect on how congressional members
vote, and how the media reports on the correlation of campaign donations and aid
packages and sales of military equipment.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Michael Bahry

Once the transaction is completed, Jeanie Buss will no longer have the required ownership percentage to remain governor. NBA guidelines require controlling owners/governors to own at least 15% of a franchise.
Breaking: The Buss family has decided to sell its remaining 17.8% ownership stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to new majority owners Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, sources tell ESPN.
The Buss family trust -- composed of siblings Jeanie, Jim, Johnny, Janie, Joey and Jesse -- received majority votes to allow trustees to execute the sale. It required four of six votes to enact the tag-along provision of Mark Walter's sale to Kushner and Iger, which valued the Lakers at $12.5 billion.

This dad takes issue with people who seem to think some kids just pop out of the womb with good manners, like it's pure luck that his kids are well behaved.
This officiating crew for Celtics-Sixers has been awful. No flow to the game. This is supposed to be playoff basketball. Put the whistles away
This may be the best description of making a tackle that I’ve ever seen. What say you @AdamArchuleta ?
Replying to @IsaacBJG21
5 phases to every tackle:
1. Tracking/positioning. Can be trained in spring against live opposition. Any 1v1 situation with the objective of getting square and tagging off on the ball carrier's knees/hips/triceps depending on what type of tackle you're going for.
2 & 3 together: Preparation and connection- preparatory dip, triple extension into the ball carrier and strong squeeze/connection. This is where all the concussion risk is, and where the NCAA regs prevent full intensity/specificity.
Go with shield hits against semi-resisting ball carriers. 2-3 step approach, some misdirection from the shield holder, tackler has to get a strong shoulder punch/connection, same shoulder/same foot, with a strong squeeze around knees/hips/triceps depending on tackle type.
Extra points for a shield like this because the only way to do it right is dip THEN rise into the hit (drill constraints as I said):
