Elder Alan T. Phillips, a General Authority Seventy and member of the United States Northeast Area Presidency, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cincinnati Ohio Temple on Saturday, November 7, 2026. "We honor those who have gone before us: the early Saints of Ohio, who sacrificed so much, and the faithful members of these stakes, who have traveled many miles to worship," said Elder Phillips. This was his final conference address, he passed away shortly after.
To say that this man, who spent his life studying Jesus Christ and writing volumes on His life, would not be a Christian is straight heresy.

Elder Dube is one of my favorite speakers. I was with my daughter on top of Hill Cumorah, saw this guy trying to do a selfi with his wife and daughters. I offered to take the picture for them. It turned out it was Elder Dube.

Funny you should bring this up. When we get cut deep, we have two choices: either let scar tissue set in, OR we can allow the Savior to heal those cuts, and both get healed from the pain as well as a new capacity for feeling after others.
Also, stop attacking. Thank you.

Mike's not helping the case for the older fan and player. The current game is far more advanced than the one he played, and with less development at the lower levels.
Mike Piazza says baseball has become so obsessed with analytics and data that people have stopped actually watching the game
“Well, and I think you would attest to this, right? For me, when I was managing and guys would come in after a pitcher was being taken out or changed, and they would come in and look and say, ‘Well, what’s he throw?’ I’m like, ‘Dude, just watch him.’ You know, watch the guy throw.”
“When I was in Dodger Stadium, I would come out before I warmed up, I would sit on the bench, and the visiting bullpen was right out in right field. Whoever was pitching, I would just sit there for five minutes, watch the slider, watch the changeup. And I could see, and you learn a lot by watching. And I think we’ve computed the game so much into data that nobody watches the game.”
“And as a catcher, you know this, right? If a guy’s hot, if he’s not, if he’s chasing, all these things you have to have right here. I mean, I would watch if a guy’s crowding the plate, I know he likes the ball in. If he’s away, I know he likes the ball away.”
“It’s just certain little tells as a catcher that you watch. I was watching the game the other day, a guy had a good fastball, he blows two by the guy, the guy fouls one off, he’s tardy. What does he do? He throws a slider, off-speed, and the guy gets a base hit.”
“I’m like, the guy is telling you that he can’t catch up to the fastball. Now, I’m not saying you can’t throw off-speed, but you can’t throw it in the zone where the guy can get the bat on it. And then you go back and try to blow him away. So yeah, this organic sort of evolution of the game, the spontaneity is gone.”
“Everything is just super, super data-computerized. And it’s a little sterile to me, it’s a little austere. But who am I? It’s just my opinion.”

What does it mean to be a light unto the world?
The Savior made it clear that part of being a light was to let others “see your good works” (Matthew 5:16).
Sometimes in our efforts to be humble we do not appropriately let people know that we are members of the Lord’s Church and follow His teachings.
There are many ways to do this. I shared during yesterday's worldwide devotional that living lives of integrity and virtue will be most important. Who you are is the key.
Light is most powerful when it is consistent and reliable—such as a lighthouse or a candle in a dark room.
It does not matter if your light feels small. “Out of small things proceedeth that which is great” (Doctrine and Covenants 64:33).
As we consider how to be a light, there is one path that is most sure: It is to learn of the Savior and strive to become like Him.
My counsel to you is to focus on Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. He is the Light of the World, the true source of light and peace.

Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
“When we make and keep covenants in the temple we have increased access to the power of Jesus Christ. This heavenly power helps us to withstand our trials, temptations, and heartaches. This power blesses us not just when we are in the temple but even beyond the walls of the temple,” Elder @DaleGRenlund said.

During our lives, many of us strive toward meaningful goals.
I learned early in my life not to wait until next week, next month, or January 1 to begin.
The best time to move forward is now.
Today.
Each day is an opportunity to grow, to improve, and to become better disciples of Jesus Christ.
I was reminded of this principle recently while preparing for and recording a message that will not be published until January.
By preparing diligently now, we will be ready when the time comes to share it. The Lord will magnify our efforts because we have prepared.
For each of us, a willingness to work diligently to prepare ourselves for the future will open doors to meaningful opportunities—even during difficult circumstances.
As we faithfully apply ourselves, we grow into the people Heavenly Father desires us to become.
So, let us not delay.
Let’s begin today.
I promise, as you take the next step forward, the Lord will bless you in ways you cannot yet imagine. He is always ready to help.
