Defensive Progression P2 - Screening Gauntlet Our philosophy is learn to guard actions not plays. 1. Up Screen, Pin Down to Ballscreen 2. Backscreen, Cross Screen to Ballscreen Great way to work on your core defensive teaching points in succession w/o a specific play or traditional shell spots. How you guard everything is dependent on your principles. @ACSLions_BB

One of those things we talked about was Pat's ability as a playmaking hub. How different his processing clock is. You saw that on the possession in the 2nd half where they ran the Horns Backscreen action that had some optionality to where the ball went next. I get more modern Al Jefferson vibes.

Everything the coaches talked about after practice a few weeks ago had me watching the Kansas game different today. The scenarios, lineup combinations, actions...will be a productive week of film and practice for them the next 5-6 days.

I love how college has opened the door for real scrimmages/exhibitions in October. High School should be the same way without these arbitrary dates and coaching regulations. More realistic game situations, playing with refs, more time to correct and evaluate your own teams

Screening Station - Guarding Ballscreens/Off Ball Screens Off Ball Help Station - 2v2/3v3 Jump to the Ball, Gap Help, Crackdowns on Drifts etc On Ball Station - 1v1 Guarding the Ball, different angles Great for when you want to hammer the finer details/fundamentals and get everybody working. Limited standing around.

I love to teach man. Its in my blood. Everything about the game to the smallest millimeter details of foot positioning, timing, angles…both sides of the ball. The day i get to the point of trying to shortcut the teaching process to the next crop will be the day I walk away from it all. I’ll never dumb down the message, my job is to help educate and elevate their minds.

Too many ppl think they know how recruiting works because they talk to some random guy at a non live period game. Then i watch things unfold like

Availability is the best ability but it can’t just be in the physical state. Availability is most valuable when you are reliable to be depended on to be the best version of yourself day in and day out in every aspect of the team…. Not in the manner in which you want to be….but in the manner in whats required for the team needs. Do you have championship level availability?
