A high tide raises all ships. Iowa High School Track & Field has none other to thank than the stakeholders of athletes and coaches that breathe life into this sport each season. The state of track & field here is in good hands. @MikeJaytrackxc thx for making it another state meet

Got a chance to speak with Iowa City West’s Aidan Jacobsen after his 4A state title win in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday.
Jacobsen becomes the first Trojan to win a state title in the event since 2018.

3 individual titles each with their own unique and incredible story. I’m proud, I saw each and everyday what these guys were up to. This was the fruits of THEIR labor. They showed up to THEIR school, worked with OUR coaches. They stuck with us and we stuck with them #PublicCoach

Had an amazing weekend at Drake! Back to back distance medley champions with my teammates (3:27.83) and won the 400 hurdles in 52.03. Also placed fourth in the 4x2 in 1:27.72
Day 1 is down and we are set out to chase championships, rewrite record books and carve memories. First, we must build a foundation for this season and the ones to come. Remember how we got here. Teach and learn from one another and always be ready to grow. GO!

Yeah schools in Iowa can have 14 coaches on the sideline in the state playoffs for football, but at track an extra coaching wristband is 30 per coach 😂
Some of my favorites from the state track and field meet. In between screaming I try and snap a few photos.. here’s the result..

Congrats @MooseOpp on finally breaking my 800m @ICWestBoysTF school record! Next two years let’s see how low you can set it. #keepworkinghard
