IF YOUR ATTITUDE CHANGES WITH YOUR PLAYING TIME…
You aren’t fully committed to the team.
You’re committed to your status on the team.
Great teammates don’t make their effort, energy, and support conditional on getting what they want.
This is such a good quote. The best players, people, coaches, teachers, CEOs, chefs, teams, organizations do all the little things very well. This is not a sports post, its a life post.
This paragraph by Kobe Bryant hits hard:
“Everyone wants to be a beast. Everyone wants to be the best. But very few people are willing to do what it actually takes. Because what it takes is boring. It is waking up at 4:00 AM. It is shooting the same shot a thousand times. It is watching the film when you are tired. People fall in love with the result, but they hate the process. You have to fall in love with the boredom. You have to fall in love with the repetition. If you can find joy in the mundane work that no one else sees, the lights will eventually shine on you.”
A great win last night. Great team win with several guys up and playing hard. Took sole possession of first place in league!
Lots of truth right here.
Interesting fact: A high school football game has 48 minutes on the clock.
But a study found the average play lasts just 5.6 seconds. At 130 plays, that’s roughly 12 minutes of actual action between BOTH teams.
Months in the weight room. Summer heat. Film. Practice. All for opportunities measured in literal seconds.
And you don’t know which 5.6 seconds will decide the game.
That backside block you took off? The pursuit you cut short because somebody else would get him?
That might’ve been it.
We beat our league rivals last night to take sole posession of first place in league! On track to get a home first round playoff game! Two games left sitting in a good spot, now back to work Monday so we're ready!
Great message on failing. Do you failing and quit (lie to yourself) or fail forward (tell yourself the truth), own it, fix it, grow and learn from it.
Never given, always earned.

Linebackers run through the tackle, not to the tackle.

I would not have e it any other way. I love coaching as I am now in my 8th season at the HS level and 18th overall. Now to find that elusive HC role!
We came out on the wrong end on the scoreboard. This is not what defines us. How we respond is what matters. Time to get to work. Go Tigers!!
