The five mental challenges of sports: 1. Pushing through discomfort. 2. Blocking out distractions. 3. Staying poised under pressure. 4. Thinking critically to solve problems. 5. Managing your ego and working with others. Work hard to improve in all of these areas!

As a coach, you can’t make all your players happy all the time. You need the courage to do what’s best for the team, even if it upsets some of your players. Focus more on what your players need, not what they want. Be a leader, not a people-pleaser.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Everybody has their own journey and race to run. Be thankful for yours and ignore the outside noise 🙏.

Another season without my dad.. I just know he’d be proud. 🥲That’s the part of coaching they don’t see. It’s so many emotions, between wins, losses and personal life. Coaches still have to show up I miss you, keep watching over me Dad. 🫶🏾❤️

4 years ago my life changed forever and the feeling never gets old and it never goes away. Losing a parent is by far the hardest thing I ever had to deal with.

Your starters are the five who start best. Your finishers might be a different five. Know both.

Coaches, Don’t let basketball consume you. Make sure to have hobbies and things you like to do in your free time that can take you completely away from the game!
