Got lucky and got to fly out on Open Week and catch our girl in California. Humidity 41% here compared to Htown.

Textbook angle tackle to the outside knee by Kevin Winston Jr.
He IS NOT tracking the near hip. Launches off the outside foot, and now he can turn his head and body so he can wrap.
I've seen a lot of defensive players bounce right off Derrick Henry's inside leg.
Safe AND effective.

They don’t throw my way much. When they do, I remind them why they don’t.

Amen
Track the inside hip. He did it. Long stride, short stride, shoulders square. Clinic tape.
But he misses the tackle.
Coming from depth or forcing the ball there are 2 acceptable outcomes. Make the tackle or get him to stop his feet and turn him to your help. Neither one starts at the inside hip.
Brian Branch on almost the same play shows you how it's done.
Sending prayers to the East Bernard community. They will rally & come back even stronger. Condolences to the family left behind and our hopes you feel proud of the lives they led and the people who are better for knowing them.
We’ve seen a few this week in practice. Great technique. From the highest level on down, great open field, “sweep the leg!”
Force player or man coverage. Take the shot. Outside Knee . Always.
It's a sliding scale. Closer to the line, or behind you can be aggressive. Past the loss or open field in secondary. Just get him down and stay square.
Same read on his shoulders. Turned east-west, go get him. Squared north-south, he's got the advantage.
Calen Bullock gives us a great picture. More coming soon.
