Fellas, A college coach just followed you on X. Most athletes follow back, feel good about it, and wait. The window closes. The coach moves on to the next athlete. Here's what to do instead, right now, while the coach still has you on his mind. DM him immediately and say this word for word: "Coach Smith, thank you for the follow. I'm very interested in your program. Have you had a chance to watch my highlight video? [link to highlight video]" That's the whole message. Four sentences and a link. One of two things happens next. If he hasn't watched the tape, he will. If he has, your athlete just opened the door to the coach's feedback and the next step. A follow is not a recruiting move. A follow-back is not a recruiting move. The DM is the recruiting move. While other athletes collect coach follows like trophies, your athlete just turned his into a coach watching his film within 24 hours of finding him. You’re welcome.
