Keys to the game:
USM wants a clean, physical game, leaning on a run game that ranks 14th in line yards and 12th in power success.
Troy needs the opposite: chaos. A top-10 stuff rate and top-40 havoc rate give its defense a chance to wreck the script. Pair that with an offense that’s in the 88th percentile for explosiveness, and Troy can turn this into the kind of game USM doesn’t want.

Cal at Syracuse is the only ACC-on-ACC game this week, and the game card puts the whole thing in one trench.
Syracuse run blocking: 31st in FBS.
Cal run defense: 137th of 138.
Cal defensive stuff rate: 3.5 percent, 136th.
