Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

Tesla has just introduced a new Supercharging safety feature called “Emergency Drive Away,” which allows you to immediately drive away from a Supercharger for safety reasons while your vehicle is still plugged in. Now rolling out via an OTA software update (2026.38.3). Pre-2021 Model S and Model X are not supported. No adapters needed. This feature applies to U.S. Superchargers only for now.

Rep. @JoyceBeatty: I was at the Kennedy Center board meeting with Trump. It was the most unprofessional thing that I’ve ever witnessed. He said, ‘I think you’re incompetent,’ and I said, ‘I know you’re incompetent.’ He said he was going to hold me responsible if something fell out of the ceiling and killed someone. I said, ‘you’re already killing people. We’re at war. We also have people who are starving.’ He wanted to talk about how great he was at developing. I reminded him that he had more bankruptcies than anybody in the room.

🚨EXCLUSIVE: Military families and service members are now describing horrific conditions across MULTIPLE ships: human waste flooding bathrooms, virtually no food, water or soap, months without port calls, exhausted crews, and no end in sight. This crisis appears to be far bigger than just the USS Abraham Lincoln. meidasnews.com/news/not-just…

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Wally Funk. Wally was a pioneer in every sense of the word. In her 20s, she was the first female civilian flight instructor at a U.S. military base. She became the youngest of the Mercury 13, outperforming nearly every test put in front of her, and ultimately, the only one of the thirteen to have ever reached space. On NS-16, sixty years later, Wally made history as the oldest astronaut at the time and remains the oldest woman to ever fly to space. It was a moment six decades in the making. We were humbled to be part of her journey. Her story will continue to inspire generations of future explorers. Fly Wally, Fly. 🚀

This old gem from my high school yearbook surfaced recently, and I figured the opportunity for an inspirational message was well worth the personal embarrassment! After my fifth spacewalk last week, I can attest that with passion, drive, and perseverance, dreams and high school aspirations are well within your grasp. What are your future plans?
