Pokemon Unite is shutting down. I never played it much. I did reach Master Rank during the very first season and somewhat enjoyed myself but it wasn't my thing. My heart goes out to those that actually genuinely enjoyed this game even today. There's a lot that sucks here, but I do think overall this is a good thing. Unite had a lot of potential, but I think it was executed poorly. Almost every day I would see nonstop complaints on my feed of people being miserable with Unite despite continuing to play it. It seemed the developers didn't always listen and only cared about one thing here (and we all know what that is). Which is why it's a shame that this will be shut down with no way for people to go back and play offline to keep the cosmetics and things they dropped hard earned dollars on. Like I said, sad to see it happen and for those who cared for it, but I feel like at this point this type of game would be better off in better hands and it could lead to more people feeling less miserable trying to enjoy a game that, at their core they love, but that just refused to address things properly.
