You can choose to think that if you want, but it's just not believable. It's a soft reboot because LOA Lara is nothing like the previous 3 games.

Out of everything in this game we've seen, Lara's look is the most disappointing for me. It's inconsistent and everytime we see more she looks worse. She looked the best in TGA trailer. She looks goofy AF in this gif.
