🚨Is Codex secretly switching you to an older model mid-session?
I'm using GPT-6 Astra on Ultra, but sometimes its performance suddenly drops, and it starts forgetting even the most basic steps.
When I asked GPT-6 Astra which model it was running on, it claimed to be based on GPT-5.0. However, when I switched to GPT-6.1 Sol Ultra and asked the exact same question, it said it was based on GPT-6.
This makes me wonder whether Codex silently switches users from GPT-6 Astra to GPT-5.6 when server load gets too high, without notifying them.
What's even stranger is that this usually happens during longer sessions. At the beginning of a session, GPT-6 Astra identifies itself as being based on GPT-6, but after working for a while, the answers become noticeably worse.
I'm currently on the $100 Pro plan, so I'd expect more consistency.
Could Codex be routing users to a different model under heavy load, or is something else going on here?
🚨 Does Codex secretly downgrade you to GPT-5 without telling you?
One Pro user on the $100 plan noticed GPT-6 Astra becoming noticeably worse during long sessions, even claiming it was based on GPT-5.0 when asked.
Meanwhile, GPT-6.1 Sol Ultra identified itself as GPT-6.
Could Codex be silently switching models under heavy server load? There’s no confirmation, but the inconsistency is raising questions.
🚨 Claude $20 vs Codex $100 Usage
After 3 weeks of tracking telemetry, one user found Claude’s cheaper plan surprisingly competitive.
Estimated monthly usage:
- Opus 5.5: ~2.5B tokens
- GPT-6 Astra: ~1.1B tokens
- GPT-6.1 Sol: ~3.2B tokens
Claude is also reportedly much faster. OpenAI has some catching up to do.
🚨OpenAI has struck a major deal with Google.
Frontier models from codex including Sol 6.1 and Astra 6 will now be available in Antigravity.
There are even rumors that a new $500 ultra subscription will be available in Gemini.
Why pay $200 for a near unlimited Claude sub when you can pay $500 to Google and OpenAI.
OpenAI is so back!
🚨 Persistent caching could change how we value Codex subscriptions.
Keeping long-running conversations cached means less repeated processing, potentially making every dollar of usage go further.
This could give Pro plans a real advantage: one account with persistent context may be more efficient than juggling several Plus accounts with identical combined limits.
The longer your workflows run, the more valuable this becomes. Could this make upgrading to Pro worth it?
🚨Day 16:
OpenAI is making cached context last much longer, with API developers now able to keep it warm for up to 12 hours.
Even better, Codex and Work users can pick up conversations hours later without losing the caching benefits.
More expensive to keep alive, but potentially a big win for workflows that reuse the same context.
🚨OpenAI finally explains why ChatGPT limits were disappearing so quickly
Tibo says a bug affected roughly 40,000 accounts, causing users to hit usage caps that didn’t match the plans they were paying for.
OpenAI says impacted users will receive credits to compensate for the issue.
It’s frustrating when your limits run out faster than expected, especially on a paid plan. At least OpenAI has identified the cause and is acknowledging the problem instead of leaving users guessing.
Did you notice your usage draining unusually fast?
🚨 A strange discovery has sparked new speculation about GPT-6.5!
The website opensi.lol contains a hidden “6.5” in its source code, alongside a countdown pointing to November 1 at 10 AM San Francisco time.
The timing is what makes this interesting: it lines up perfectly with Day 28 of Tibo’s 28-day countdown.
Is someone teasing an upcoming OpenAI
announcement, or are we being played?
🚨 OpenAI Terra Family Could Be Making a Comeback
• A new Terra model is in development, with
a possible launch in the coming weeks.
• It could offer stronger capabilities at a lower price than GPT-6.1 Sol.
OpenAI already moved away from Terra, so why bring the family back now?
🚨 OpenAI’s Usage Limits Are Getting WORSE.
Tibo announced a global reset for paid ChatGPT users yesterday. Since then, people have been reporting unusually fast usage depletion.
I tested it myself: 2 questions cost me 58% of my 5-hour limit.
Usage was already a problem. Now it feels even worse.
🚨Do people at OpenAI actually use Codex? It's been barely usable for months.
Every week, usage limits change, random blackouts happen, and you're left guessing how many tokens you'll get. There's barely one model worth using, yet we're expected to pay and just deal with it.
Before last night's reset, I got 90 minutes of GPT-6.1 Sol Max on Plus. Today, just 35 minutes for an even smaller task.
I shouldn't need to follow someone on X to know when I can use a product I've paid for.
This is a nearly trillion-dollar company. Seriously?
🚨 Tibo from OpenAI became the most popular account on X in September, surpassing Elon Musk, according to Similarweb.
Frequent Codex resets, banked usage, and OpenAI’s DevDay communications are drawing serious attention.
AI is becoming a mainstream topic, and free resets show just how valuable AI tokens have become.
Congrats to Tibo on the execution.

🚨 Are ALL 3 of OpenAI’s new ChatGPT models built for image generation?
- "aurora-blue-alpha"
- "aurora-green-alpha"
- "aurora-red-alpha"
All three are reportedly being tested on Arena right now.
Is OpenAI preparing a new image-generation lineup?
🚨 New OpenAI models spotted?
Three new identifiers have surfaced:
- "aurora-blue-alpha"
- "aurora-red-alpha"
- "aurora-green-alpha"
Could OpenAI be preparing a new model ahead of its competition with Anthropic?
Astra 6.1 is one possibility,
🚨Frequent resets are a HUGE win for Plus users.
I’m on Plus, and with resets happening so often, I can burn through my limits in two days and just wait for the next one.
So far, I’ve lost 0% of my usage to resets. Honestly, I’ve gotten more out of Plus this way than I would in a full month without them.
The delays barely matter anymore. 😭
🚨 Buckle up. The next few weeks are going to be wild
Expected drops
>Fable 5.5
>GPT-6.1 Astra
>Grok 4.8
And China has been unusually quiet . That's about to change.
The competition is heating up, and Opus 5.5 may finally face serious challengers.
Can OpenAI reclaim the #1 spot with GPT-6.1 Astra?
🚨 Codex usage limits are draining WAY faster than before.
I’m on Plus, and both my weekly quota and 5-hour limit are disappearing ridiculously fast. Luna Max used to last much longer, and although Sol 6.1 consumed more at launch, things have gotten noticeably worse since the “28 days of nothing” began. Even switching back to Luna Max hasn’t helped, despite my workflow staying the same.
Is anyone else seeing their Codex limits disappear this quickly?
🚨 ChatGPT Pro is getting a serious upgrade!
GPT-6 Astra Pro is moving closer to a future where multiple AI agents collaborate directly inside ChatGPT.
Less time spent waiting, more complex work handled efficiently, and a much more seamless experience.
GPT-6 Astra Pro in ChatGPT got an upgrade with faster responses and improved use of plugins and tools.
And now, multiple agents can tackle different parts of a task in parallel. You can follow each agent’s progress and open completed tasks to review their work.
Now available to Pro users in the Chat tab.
🚨 Codex users are celebrating resets more than actual improvements 💀
OpenAI is struggling to keep pace with Anthropic and Google while Codex users track their next usage refill like a major event.
The 28-day promise of daily improvements or full resets has only made those resets a bigger talking point.
If getting your limits back is more exciting than using the product, doesn’t that say something about Codex’s current state?
🚨 ChatGPT Plus and Pro users just got a big win!
The cap on creating Sites has reportedly been lifted.
For anyone constantly building prototypes, dashboards, mini apps, and Three.js experiments, this means more freedom to ship projects without worrying about hitting a site limit.
One less restriction between an idea and a finished project.
🚨 Day 11:
OpenAI is tackling Codex’s model capacity errors
"Tibo" says new changes and additional compute should significantly reduce “Selected model is at capacity” interruptions.
If the error still appears, Codex should eventually resume automatically instead of leaving users stuck.
Capacity errors are getting attention. Now it’s time to fix context compaction taking forever.
Day 11/
We've landed a series of changes and more compute to very significantly decrease the occurrence of the disruptive "Selected model is at capacity. Please try a different model". When it does happen, it should also eventually just continue by itself and not just block on it.
Let us know if you still see it out there in the wild and we'll take a look.
