Fed up of this racist Pretending to be a patriot while he hates us. Sinister clown.
The UK is standing up for our values and interests in the world. My discussion with the BBC on the Commonwealth, CHOGM, and why it is patriotic to face up to the UK’s history on slavery 👇 youtube.com/watch?v=ViostxJa…

Another one bites the dust! Claudia Webbe yesterday, Michael Rosen today Leftists are such cowards When corrected, rather than debate or admit they are wrong, they block / cancel Michael Rosen should stick to children's books and let the adults discuss the big topics
Such ignorance, @MichaelRosenYes Caribbean sugar did not generate vast wealth for Britain nor did it drive industrialisation As I had to explain to KehindeAndrews, sugar amounted to 2.5% of net British national income Coal, sheep farming, the woolen industry, and iron were far more valuable In 1770, the peak year for sugar, sugar only accounted for 3% of capital formation. If sugar was such a hot commodity it would have accounted for a FAR higher %. In fact, Scottish & Irish flax and linen were much more of a revenue generator for the British economy than sugar The reality is that the contribution of sugar to the British economy was the same as for barley and hops - and I don't recall anyone saying that beer was fundamental for the Industrial Revolution. I am fed up. This is racism. All human societies practiced slavery - some still do. England, then Britain are unique in banning it 1772 domestically then 1807 internationally. Trying to blame/shame/steal from Brits in 2026 - is pure racism.

OK. So……. Italy owes us reparations for the Romans. Scandinavia owes us reparations for the Vikings. France owes us reparations for 1066. Morocco owes us reparations for the Barbary pirates. Shall we start making some claims?

Burnham handing the moaning Caribbeans £40 million of OUR money following their slavery reparation demands is, and I don't use this word lightly, a traitorous decision.

I know you're a convicted criminal but must you also commit crimes against scholarship? 1. Your last line shows your post is AI generated 2. Tax payers did NOT pay enslavers' bill for 180 yrs* 3. UK did NOT drain $45 trillion** You are as ridiculous as ever * The £20 million payment to free the slaves was paid off long before 2015 (it may have been paid off as early as the 19th century but was almost certainly paid off during the 20th century). You are basing your claim on a poorly phrased Treasury tweet which has since been clarified. ** The ludicrous claim that Britain stole $45 trillion from India comes from Marxist Utsa Patnaik's biased calculation, which compounds estimated colonial transfers at 5% interest over generations, producing this ridiculous nonsensical sum rather than the actual amount Britain received. Do your own research and writing next time instead of relying on AI. This is utterly embarrassing.

The British Empire was the greatest work of human civilisation this world has ever seen. It outlawed the slave trade and then hunted it to extinction across every ocean on earth. It put the rule of law on six continents. It built the railway, the telegraph, the modern world. And when it left, India, Canada, Australia and fifty more kept the lot. That is not conquest. That is inheritance. A quarter of the land on earth. A quarter of the people. Run from one wet island. Now ask what it did with that reach. Not what it took. What it built. It built the law. Around a third of the world's people live under legal systems descended from English common law. The presumption of innocence. Trial by jury. A judge who can rule against the government and keep his job. It built the machine age. The first intercity railway. The cable that joined Europe and America. By 1902 a telegraph ring circled the entire world, landing only on British soil. It built the knowledge. Newton. Darwin. Faraday. Turing. Berners-Lee. The machine you are reading this on is, from the physics up, a British invention with foreign parts. And it built a war on the slave trade. No great power had ever made war on the trade — until Britain did. Sixty years. Around 1,600 ships seized. Around 150,000 Africans freed. Around 2,000 British sailors dead doing it. Then the thing that proves the case. Every empire before it ended in fire. This one chose to go — and the nations it freed kept the lot. The courts. The parliaments. The language. Then they formed a club with the country that had ruled them. Fifty-six members. Four of them were never British at all. Former French and Portuguese colonies asked to join. Nobody applies to join the empire of a tyrant. Was it perfect? No empire is. Fine. Now name the empire that did better. Name the one that bled for sixty years to end the slave trade. Name the one whose former subjects kept its courts. Name the one that packed up and went home. There is one. Nobody keeps the chains of a master. They keep the gifts of a builder. Fifty-six nations kept them. That is the verdict — and it was not ours. It was theirs. Others apologise for our history. I tell it — properly, from the record, without the guilt. Yes. Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu is of Yoruba descent from the Ogere-Remo area of Ogun State. Yoruba kingdoms, including the Oyo Empire and Ijebu/Remo groups, actively sold war captives and others into the Atlantic slave trade for centuries as middlemen and suppliers. Scholarly records document Ijebu recruitment and marketing of slaves from the 1500s onward. Specific personal actions of her direct ancestors are not detailed in public sources.

I’m very curious about the mindset of the white guilt liberal. If it was me, and I put out a dumbass tweet where I was humiliated by a corrective community note, crucified in the replies and absolutely destroyed by a punishing views to likes ratio, I’d have to pause, take stock, reevaluate, go through some process of introspection. But I suspect that Kay won’t do any of that. I imagine she’ll just blunder onto the next excruciatingly stupid woke take without a hint of humility or shame. I don’t understand how a human being does that.
Having just left Elmina Castle in Ghana, where enslaved Africans were imprisoned before being shipped across the Atlantic, I think Europeans should never tire of acknowledging the horrors of our shared history and asking forgiveness from our African friends. Britain played its own shameful part in that history.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Elmina Castle was built by the Portuguese in 1482, seized by the Dutch in 1637 and acquired by Britain only in 1872—after Britain abolished the slave trade in 1807. Africans captured in wars and raids supplied most enslaved people sold to Europeans at such coastal forts. britannica.com/place/Elmina-C… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmina_Ca… britannica.com/topic/transatl… rmg.co.uk/stories/mariti…

We've basically got the same situation in the UK as they had in the US with USAID. We've got all these woke government departments treating taxpayer money as their own kitties to fund leftist causes that run contrary to what the British public wants.
I’ve uncovered more than £1 million of your money going from the Ministry of Justice straight to pro-immigration charities. Charities that campaign against border controls and help illegal immigrants stay in Britain. This must stop. The Ministry of Justice exists to serve the British people, not to act as a cash machine for left-wing lawyers.

Britain does not owe a SINGLE PENNY to the Caribbean nations When boxer & civil rights activist Muhammad Ali was asked what he thought of Africa, he replied: “I'm just glad my granddaddy got on that boat!” Africa was never going to become Wakanda, with or without colonisation The fact is, as horrific & awful as slavery was, the descendants of slaves today have a far better life than if their ancestors had never left West Africa. Globally, black Americans are the richest part of the black diaspora, with black Canadians and Britons following not far behind. The descendants of slaves in the Caribbean live around 10-15 years longer than in West Africa - and their GDP per capita is approx. 10 x higher. Thanks to their British colonial inheritance* the Caribbean states are stable, democratic, middle income countries. Many outrank regional neighbours (non-British colonies) on the UN Human Development Index - including countries such as Brazil or Mexico. If we were having this discussion in the 19th century, when slaves were alive, I'd absolutely support reparations. But by every measure, today, in the 21st century, the Caribbean nations and the descendants of slaves that live there are benefitting from the legacy of British colonialism. That's something to celebrate rather than denounce. A cause for pride rather than shame. *English language, common law, parliament, judiciary, education system, civil service, military, police, hospitals & medicine, sanitation, electricity, roads etc. etc. Me on @GBNews (old interview)👇
Britain's King Charles III continued his nine-day tour of the Caribbean Thursday under mounting pressure to issue a formal apology for the U.K. royal family's historic role in the transatlantic slave trade and to support calls for reparations. cbsn.ws/4zZill4
