Drop into the Museum, step up to our touch wall and do some #origami.
Unfold this elephant to reveal a Congolese bank note—with an elephant on it, of course.
We have over 400 artifacts to explore on our touch wall, one of the biggest in Canada🍁. #WorldElephantDay🐘

Not your cuddly housecat, it’s a bobcat.
This fellow was produced by renowned Canadian artist Alex Colville for Canada’s centennial commemorative coins.

This coin shows a version of Kenojuak Ashevak’s “The Red Owl.”
Her initials are in Inuktitut syllabics, the first time seen on a circulating coin.
Part of a millennium series, this coin represents our Northern heritage.

An interesting bit of numismatic iconography for #WorldSeaTurtleDay:
“Aegina depicted images of sea turtles on their coins when the island was the supreme sea power among the Greek city-states. The sea turtle…represented its naval strength & resiliency. After its defeat by Athens in 458 BCE, Aegina ceased using the sea turtle and substituted the land tortoise to symbolize its lost sea power.”

ANZAC day is one of the most solemn days in Australia, commemorating the first great battle Australia took part in as a nation - the storming of the beach in what is now known as "ANZAC Cove", Türkiye.
Lest, we forget.

Another interesting coin is the US Kennedy half dollar, initially minted in 1964 as a commemoration of the president assassinated in 1963, and which became the standard design for half dollars until today. en.numista.com/catalogue/pie…
