If you don't feel something when the hatchet sparks against the back of the cave, I'm sorry, you're not ensouled. Abject misandry aside, Hatchet is simply a finely crafted piece of literature.
The first novel I ever loved was the survival classic Hatchet, but recently I’ve learned that a *lot* of women despise this book, and see it is as something they were forced to read in school to entice the idiot illiterate boys in their English class. I dove into that tension!

This SaaS/restaurant analogy is so threadbare, sick of seeing it regurgitated on the timeline, you're not original bro - restaurants one of the hardest businesses w/ worst margins, impossible to scale (McD's = RE biz) - you could always cook your own food, previously there was no way for normies to create their own software - it's less like building your own burger at home, more like a 5 star chef coming to your house, bringing all the ingredients, and making you whatever you want on demand - in a few short months it will be a Star Trek food synthesizer, able to instantly produce perfect quality meals, anything you can dream of, change your mind after a few bites at no cost Go back to sleep
- Restaurants have no moat. - Anyone can vibecook their own meal. - You can build your own burger at home at a fraction of the cost it takes you to get it from a restaurant. - If a restaurant builds a really good recipe, copycats will instantly reverse taste it and steal it. Restaurants are dead.

Brevity is more than ever the soul of wit. I’m feeding every email and blog post into Pangram.
Before AI, large blocks of text were a signal of effort. After AI, large blocks of text are a signal of laziness.

An unbelievable result. If this is what researchers are doing with open source substrate, imagine what’s happening behind closed doors at the labs…
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math. It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training. We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵 Blog: rikiyat.github.io/blog/weigh…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math. rikiyat.github.io/blog/weight-sp… github.com/RikiyaT/lm_und… huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.5-0… huggingface.co/RikiyaT/Qwen3.…

Are you guys ready to admit that the Apple Duo was overhyped and unnecessary and not practical as a phone? Has the honeymoon period worn off? There's going to be a ton hitting eBay soon and would love to know the return numbers.

Hi Jake - i work at one of the big 3 AI labs. I can assure you - it’s 100x worse than anyone is telling you truthfully. We had to patch a major energy security flaw on 3 grids in the US this week alone. This will never leave the lab’s walls - but I’m brave enough to say it. We are about 3-5 days away from a potential 20% blackout of energy in the US.

Seeing posts like this then going about my business building B2B SaaS
It's one of those fun times when infosec people start saying stuff like "you should buy some devices that work without an Internet connection, like pistols, shotguns, and rifles."

I would kill to hear someone @Apple defend this design. Very much looking forward to my pickup tomorrow, but this is egregious. @johnternus what's up?

Going to write something about this. Big changes are coming to supply-constrained online commerce.
This seems so easy to fix. My Apple ID is warmed up with my entire purchase history. Simply prioritize IDs of loyal Apple customers.

Genuinely retarded post. 4th grade class president politics. "I should be able to eat my favorite food for dinner every night!"
RFK: People can go to the grocery store and not get the ribeye to save money Q: Do you have a favorite cut of steak? RFK: If I had to choose a favorite, it's a ribeye

Bro has a better grasp on the fundamentals of a successful society than @BernieSanders
REPORTER: “So you’re not against data centers in general?” PENNSYLVANIA MAN: “No, no! Because we either move on or we go down the drain. That’s the way I see it.”

In my day to day conversations with brokers, I’m hearing a lot of dread. I just overheard a 90y.o. client tell their agent “just ask ChatGPT, it will tell you the price is too low” - nightmare fuel. Slack in the market + explosive adoption of AI by consumers…
Replying to @grok
@grok a lot of residential real estate agents are in shock due to higher mortgage interest rates. How does today’s US residential real estate market compare to other “slower sales times” over the last two decades? And what advice do you have for smart agents today?

Closed-source software is finished. The examples we’ve seen in games are just the canary in the coal mine. The trouble is that large sectors of the economy of essentially funded by the sale of software. Buckle up!

In World of Warcraft, Dots literally kill you
Introducing dots, powered by GPT-6 Astra. Remarkably capable, always-on agents built to handle everything.

The writing seems to be on the wall for the MLS. What is "agent data" anyway? So many primitives need to be rethought.

How is this anything other than unambiguous evil? I would be so fascinated to listen to this person make a steelman argument. My 3 year old is reading words and sentences, and my 4 year old is reading books - watching that skill blossom has been a pure joy.
"I even think that it’s really wrong for parents to ever try to push reading before 5," says Maryanne Wolf, director of the Center for Dyslexia, Diverse Learners and Social Justice at UCLA. (1/n)

Abundance they said.
I consider @ezraklein to be way more educated on AI than a normie & I assume he's talked with lots of AI experts. So it's interesting that he doesn't understand that we are well past the event horizon on this particular strategy.
