We have two good candidates for Congress in San Francisco, but I'm voting for @Scott_Wiener. He's been a tireless fighter for the city, first as a supervisor and then in the State Senate. He takes climate change and clean energy seriously, and he's focused on bringing down costs for Californians.

This is an @AlvarezSD appreciation post. David authored two of the major bills that reformed Bonus Law into the most effective pro-housing policy in the state. A housing hero, and a former @circulatesd boardmember!

Well, look at that. CA is seeing a big increase in multifamily housing permits. We passed historic CEQA reforms w/AB 130 to make it easier to build housing & now we’re seeing momentum. There’s still lots of work to do, but this is an encouraging sign. ocregister.com/2026/10/08/ca…

California multifamily permits jump 33% this year

Permits for 36,600 multifamily housing units statewide equals the third-best start to a year since 1990.

This is very real. Even as a councilmember of a small suburb, I received threats of violence, and several times had to refer things to law enforcement. It did seem to peak around 2020-2021. Still a big problem. nytimes.com/2026/10/11/us/po…

America’s Elected Officials Are Living in Fear

A Times investigation has found that violent threats have become a new normal among public officials, reshaped private lives, cost millions in security and pushed people out of office.

As someone who was hit by a drunk driver and is getting ready for a third surgery because of it, and watched my child suffer in the hospital for days from his injuries, this kind of thinking really infuriates me. There are ways to help displaced workers without stopping progress.
Janeese Lewis George@Janeese4DCOct 15
DC is facing a jobs crisis. Rushing the legalization of autonomous vehicles is irresponsible given the anticipated AI-related job displacement and disruptions that put countless workers at risk.
