Things didn’t work out for Risacher with the team that drafted him with the #1 overall pick, and instead of sulking he decided to come to Dallas and give his all on the defensive side of the ball. Rare for a prospect of his caliber to swallow his ego and buy in to this type of role. I really respect it.

“(Flagg) has football safety type of instincts, reading where the ball is going, reading what’s going on behind him…”
“(Risacher) never gets tired. One of the assistant coaches, Coach Fodor, said he’s a cyborg. He comes out of a game playing five minutes that hard and he’s not breathing (hard), he’s just sitting there, you can’t even tell that he’s been playing…He’s kinda reinventing himself, where even though he’s not shooting nearly as well as he always has, he’s found a lot of value in other parts of the game.”

Alright, alright. The Mavs are playing hard, and I like the effort early this season.
Flagg has been great, and the youth of Sasser, Clayton, Morez and even Risacher has been fun so far. Much more fun than the fossil that was Klay Thompson a year ago.

No offensive lineman mentioned outside of Goosby — Chatman, J. Coleman, Christian popped up last week.
No Derrek Cooper mentioned either. So we will see on that front.
