Excuse the late night post rain single photo of this 2026 Subaru WRX Base manual I’m testing this week but after driving it in rain and shine yesterday I’m smitten. Forget the “Yeah but STI when” conversations. This car brings me the joy I so fondly remember during the heyday of the sport compact car. AWD, manual, cloth sport seats, plenty of torque and horsepower and a hell of a lot of personality. As driven, under $34k all in. This thing is an absolute riot. No caveats no asterisks no buts. No hybrids no gimmicks nothing. A turbo boxer 4, a willing chassis, and a great transmission. What more do you need? It’s exactly the kind of enthusiast car everyone says isn’t made anymore. Get em before they don’t exist like this anymore.
