Glowing red, blue, and yellow! 🇵🇭✨ Earlier today, Clark County @Commishbecker and the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Nevada lit up the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign to celebrate Filipino American History Month. From healthcare and education, the Filipino American community is an essential pillar of what makes Nevada feel like home.
First proposed in 1991 to mark the arrival of the first Filipinos in what is now known as Morro Bay, California, on Oct. 18, 1587. Formed in 1997, NaFFAA continues to unite and advocate for the Filipino American community nationwide.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning to celebrate this rich culture, heritage, and history!

To assist those residents impacted by the ongoing power outages, Clark County’s Office of Emergency Management and partner agencies have put resources in place for those in need. Clark County has activated all cooling sites to provide temporary relief from the heat. Pets can be accommodated at Clark County Parks & Recreation cooling sites if the animal is in an appropriate container.
An emergency shelter has been established at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority (South Hall, Room S2 with parking in the Platinum Lot on Joe W. Brown) for affected residents in need of accommodation, with transportation available through the RTC. Animal Protection Services will provide kennel space at the convention center for those sheltering to help ensure people and pets stay together. People should bring an appropriate container/kennel for their animal. Residents in need of medical transport to the shelter will be assisted through RTC’s Paratransit by calling 702-228-4800 and selecting option #3.
Transportation is available to the LVCVA from the Walmart located at 3075 E Tropicana. Buses are currently running continuously until 2:00 pm today.
Residents with animals other than a dog or cat or with unique needs for their pet can call Animal Protection Services at 702-455-7710.
Donations are not being accepted at this time.
NV Energy is assisting in notifying residents of these resources.
