The Survivor Justice Act passed in the GA Senate today. Finally, legislation that rekindles hope for many I've done time with still serving ridiculous sentences for self-defense & surviving! It's been 10+ years in the making @IgnitingHopeGA & @CommunityATL but we're almost there.

Until We All Count is a short film by @pagedukes, highlighting the advocacy of activists fighting to win back voting rights for themselves and others and to push back against "reforms" that reinforce disenfranchisement. Watch Until We All Count here: youtu.be/_WZRAlwW3Co?si=b3jY…

It costs three times more to enforce anti-homeless laws than to provide housing to those who do not have it. Criminalization only fills up jails with people who are more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators.

I'm stoked to represent @CommunityATL alongside some amazing advocates at this year's Decriminalizing Race & Poverty Symposium, hosted by @southerncenter on Oct. 25. Bringing a little @AtlantaJMLS to @GeorgiaStateLaw.

At @CommunityATL, the biggest barrier to stable, affordable housing after incarceration is having that record.
So it was awesome to have a convo this morning about community perspectives and The Cost of Living with @canopyatl and @AtlCivicCircle.

Great, the cops are now criminalizing those providing AFFORDABLE HEALTHY FOOD for people living in extreme poverty. We (@CommunityATL) buy produce from these very vendors at the Forest Park farmer's market and do NOT need them being driven away!
When regulation in Georgia kills small businesses and what is really ironic, fails to address the actual PROBLEM.

I've spent the past week @CommunityATL working out logistics to increase operations, funding, and engagement. Now, more than ever, we must empower and equip ourselves to advocate collectively to combat the criminalization of poverty. Our city has voted against us.

Today they complain about housing unhoused folks in hotels, tomorrow they’ll complain they’re camping on the streets, demand they be arrested, and pay twice as much to “house” them in jail.
#HousingNotHandcuffs ends #homelessness.
Voting to perpetuate unsheltered homelessness ….., it was a choice kgw.com/article/news/local/h…

Hey @ronnysison, your photography is awesome! Thanks for making some of your beautiful local photos so available. I'm using a great rainy shot of downtown on the new @CommunityATL website (in the making). Get in touch; maybe we can collab.
