I’ve been blessed to spend time with many of the world’s great investors.
20 years ago, I made a point to hunt down the best. Many are now popular on Fintwit - Nick Sleep, Li Lu, Chuck Akre. Others should be - Chris Hohn, Larry Robbins, and more.
For🎄: 12 lessons I learned🧵👇

Odds of getting paid on 👇🏻 appear to have increased.
Then again, perhaps we all underestimated @rabois integrity. And for that we may owe an apology.
For everyone who’s scolded me that @rabois will never pay me when I win our $100,000 $OPEN bet, I have defended him as a man of honor.
Today, Keith paid @Geiger_Capital $50,000 for a bet on Tuesday’s election.
Men of honor live up to their word. 🫡

For those keeping score at home, $OPEN at $1.40 is down 85% since we agreed to the bet, which was almost exactly one year ago.
Rabois wins if OPEN trades at $267 at some point before the end of 2032, which is just over a 19,000% return from here.
HALF of Paraguay’s population had deposits at a bank that failed and now they cannot access their money?!?!
Half.
Paraguay’s president has ties to the bank and just resigned.
My fellow Americans, just remember, things could be worse. Be grateful. 🇺🇸

On AI and elections:
If you can’t build data centers, value will pile up for those who already own them.
WINNERS:
Google, Microsoft, Amazon are, by far, the biggest owners, also may ease their CapEx requirements. $DLR, some neoclouds, etc.
LOSERS:
Those who rent compute (Anthropic is Exhibit A). Equipment guys who are today’s bottlenecks ($MU).
Will be interesting to see how contracts for 2029 etc deliveries are structured.

I get the “SpaceX is in Texas and there’s a new sheriff in town who hates Elon“ risk.
But if SpaceX can get its several gigawatts of data centers already under construction opened up - and it is selling compute on the spot market - you cannot imagine the rates it is going to be able to charge if broader US data center construction slows. 🚀

Replying to @PrefShares
Here is the only graphic you have to see to understand the magnitude of the blue wave.
It shows the shift by precinct for this election vs 2024.
It will be even more pronounced by the time the west coast closes.
Updated. Zero red arrows.
Somehow western states just can’t bring themselves to count votes at first world speeds, but they’ll be blue too.
The people have spoken:
xitter.gq/compound248/status/211…
Today, the people spoke.
In 2024, Trump won on four main issues:
1) Immigration
2) Culture (trans sports)
3) No more unnecessary wars
4) Ending “Biden’s” inflation
Scorecard:
1: Success closing the border, but early ICE stuff was a disaster❓
2: Quieted down ✅
3 & 4: Abject failures ❌❌
Plus he picked fights with our allies and has governed chaotically. ❌ ❌
What do people want?
More than anything, they want Peace and Prosperity.
There are lessons to be learned in there, though I don’t expect either side to actually learn them.

$ORCL ANNOUNCED $10 BILLION STOCK ISSUANCE AFTER HOURS
Selling $10 billion of stock near three year lows shows how nervous Larry is and how desperate he is to get cash in the door. 😬
Going from FCF positive to burning $30 billion per year will do that to you.
Why does the always-on-point, @akramsrazor say the $PLTR call sounds “like an AI short report for everyone but Palantir?”
Because it promotes AI that is cheaper, better, safer, & yours.
See quotes like this:
[Audio Up]
“This is not about doing the same thing cheaper. It is about defining the productive work that goes beyond yesterday's frontier and capturing and compounding the new economic value it creates, and doing so with Sovereign AI. The examples are everywhere now.
“It is clear that post-training on your specific operational data in Ontology enables better-than-frontier performance on weights you control, protecting your alpha.
“Yes, it is cheaper, but the dominant variable is that more use cases can actually get to the threshold of viability for machine intelligence to generate economic value when elegantly integrated into your enterprise.”

You can feel the toll that paying that price has taken on Caro - look at his eyes, as he contemplates his answer.
