It was not a Blue Tsunami. It was a cataclysmic Blue nuclear bomb that shook the foundation of the American political landscape to its core.
Some of my thoughts on this midterm:
1) It was the strongest rebuke of the governing party of my lifetime, even moreso than 1994 & 2010. The leftward shift was decisive across all states, regions, demographics.
2) Trump is a failed President. He squandered an impressive coalition through boneheaded policies. A deeper underlying problem that resonated with voters was Trump's shameless grift, using his office to enrich his family & friends while failing to focus on the bread and butter issues affecting the average American. This jarring disconnect fueled voter anger, galvanizing lower propensity voters to go for Dems. Simultaneously, Trump's failure to deliver on his core promises led to the exodus of young men from his coalition (especially young working class White & Latino men).
3) Consequences of this midterm:
A) Anyone who worked for Trump is DOA for 2028 election.
B) GOP will be locked out of Senate control for quite some time; this means Alito & Thomas will be replaced by liberal judges. Roberts also probably retires soon. SCOTUS will be remade, along with lower level federal judiciary. One of Trump's few lasting legacies will be crushed.
C) Dem state legislatures will ruthlessly redistrict; huge implication beyond 2030
D) Dems will target tech oligarchs, especially Elon, crypto bros, and anyone who explicitly helped Trump. We will see this play out in Texas, where the incoming governor & her administration will no doubt target Elon's businesses that are headquartered in the state.
E) Trump will move left on policy to make deals with a Dem congress as his priority is in getting "wins" rather than any overaching ideological agenda. Another motive will be to avoid conviction as Dem House will invariably impeach Trump.

“Gangsta rap made me do it” -Ice Cube
So many unnecessary deaths because people want to look cool.
The learjet guy died because his banker friends flew p-jet, and he thought he had to as well.
He picked one of the cheapest p-jet companies just so he could brag about p-jet gangsta lyfe.
Marathon deaths doubled because gangsta sportlyfe on social media is cool.
People are pushing beyond their limits to finish the marathon, otherwise they lose out on gangsta content.
And then we have multiple influencers dying to fucking eating- one from
vomiting too much from excessive eating on cam, and another one from eating an exotic deadly crab.
Social media has made the Darwin Award far more competitive than it was 20 years ago.
While this is 100% the pilot’s decision, I can't help but feel ATC did not give clear guidance given the situation.
Such a shame that brave young woman is catching all the blame.
My heart goes out to the families of those aboard N722BD. Volumetric radar data show the jet descending from about 37,000 ft near a deep thunderstorm, with tops near 46,000 ft, close to West Palm Beach around 12:48 PM. The last ADS-B report came about 75 seconds later. Weather may have been a factor, but the NTSB will determine the cause. The radar numbers come from my 3D grid of the 12:45 PM scan, averaged over about a 10 km box around where the descent started. The radar is about 120 km away at that point, so the beam is wide up there, and the scan is 2½ minutes before the descent. That’s why the caption says “near” and “possible” rather than claiming the plane flew through a specific core.
I’m shocked to see that MAGA folks would rather latch on to the DEI narrative than someone was daylights savings time & 8 miles away from shooting a plane at the President😂

In Tuesday’s election the Republicans are defending 20 senatorial seats, to the Democrats 13. If, miraculously, the Dems were to retain all 13 of their seats and win every one of the 20 seats Republicans are defending, they would have the 67 seats and votes in the Senate needed to convict and remove Donald Trump from Office in the event of another impeachment

Funnily, the reason people know who you’re referring to when you say “The United States” is the EXACT same reason people from the US are called “Americans”.
Talk about being “entitled”😂😂😂
In Spanish is Estadounidense
In French is États-unien
In Portuguese is estadunidense
In Italian is Statunitense
In Catalan is estatunidenc
In Galician is estadounidense
In English, meanwhile, is "american"
What a fucking narcisists
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Misleading. French "États-Unien" exists but "is much less widespread than "'American'".

Similarly "Americano" far more common than "Statunitense" in Italian.

As noted list is cherry-picked; in most other non-Iberian languages demonym is derived from "American"

I don’t understand how so called Black French people don’t turn inside out when they utter the word “imperialism”
Funnily, Stephen Jackson was on the team that eliminated arguably the best version of Kobe.
Kobe Bryant shares how he immediately told Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson he would have destroyed them in their prime during an off-camera conversation
Kobe: "Well, what he started the conversation with was, 'Well, I would have destroyed you, though.'"
Stephen Jackson: "And you know, listen, I just said, 'Listen, just remember who you're talking to.' And he just started laughing. He was like, 'I'm just messing with you.' And then we just kind of moved on."
