Me, last year: “We should make Confluence bigger next year.”
Me now: Interesting, so this is what I meant. 😂
There is something hilarious about ambitious ideas. When you say them, they sound beautiful.
“Let's build something bigger.”
“Let's bring more people.”
“Let's create more opportunities.”
“Let's involve more ecosystems.”
Then execution arrives, with spreadsheets, deadlines, budgets, follow-ups, logistics... and I'm not gonna lie, I also realized today that I'm having 20+ WhatsApp conversations happening simultaneously on @ConfluenceEvent
Still… I wouldn't trade it.🙂↔️
Because seeing an idea move from “what if?” to “it's happening” sets my soul on fire! 🦋✨

By the way,
@ConfluenceEvent is not a Johnadek production.
There are people behind this thing.
People doing the work, solving problems, people sacrificing weekends, arguing over tiny details, importantly people keeping me sane. 🤣
I'll introduce some of them soon.

NOT CANCELLED, JUST BUFFERING
Confluence 2.0 isn't cancelled, it's postponed to November 12th to 14th, 2026.
Changing dates is never ideal, especially for those who'd already made plans. But I'd rather the team take the extra time to deliver the experience they promised than rush something average.
Africa's largest student-led Web3 event deserves that.
I'll appreciate you take your time to update your calendars, tell your people, and let's show up big.
See you there!

Phew! I almost missed today.
As the day draws near, the pressure becomes much.
Anyway, I want someone in Lagos to see @ConfluenceEvent and think
“Wait, there's a serious tech event happening in Ogbomoso? I need to be there.”
That's the goal.
And yeah, this is not because Lagos/other major cities aren't great, but because I believe opportunity should not have a postcode.
