Prices up. Energy bills up. Mortgages up. The country’s tax burden and borrowing at record highs. I love a good gherkin, but the government’s response is not equal to the scale of the challenges.

What a mess. Labour bankrupted Birmingham. The bins weren't collected for almost 600 days. And now, the new Lib Dem administration won't say what they think about the Greens' mad obsession with the Middle East. Birmingham deserves better than this.
I have joined Birmingham Labour colleagues in writing to the Council Leader. Green cabinet members must publicly disown their party’s “Zionism is Racism” motion. If they refuse, the power sharing agreement must end. Standing against racism requires leadership and action. 👇🏽

As discussed with @DawnNeesom and @MarchRejoin on @GBNEWS a few moments ago. Even if you take the 4% less GDP growth as fact, that would be £100bn less in GDP per year by 2035. The gross cost of EU membership for the UK in 2028 would be in excess of £35bn a year, which would need £100bn in GDP to generate it. So even if you use the utterly ludicrous 4% figure, leaving the EU is a net economic benefit. By Peter's own numbers and own argument - and he offered to halve it to 2%.

Andy Burnham is a shameless fraud.
There is nothing socialist about a system of free movement that is used by multi-nationals to undermine wages. WATCH my Brexit speech today.

Four months ago, Andy Burnham stood in Makerfield and promised he would not re-run the Brexit argument. This weekend, his Government was discussing the return of EU free movement and refusing to rule anything "off the table". Labour's own manifesto says there will be no return to the single market, the customs union, or freedom of movement. Seventeen point four million people voted to end free movement. Britain had this debate, and Britain decided. As our National Director Richard Thomson puts it: "This is not consultation. It is a calculated attempt to overturn a democratic decision through the back door." The votes of 17.4 million people are not a talking point to be reopened whenever convenient. Great British PAC will hold this Prime Minister to the promises he made, in writing and in Makerfield. Read our full report, then share it far and wide: greatbritishpac.com/news/gre…

This is a cover-up. Labour's Justice Secretary won't say how many of the prisoners he is releasing early have been tagged. He promised they’d all be tagged, now he tells me we won't find out until January. 3,000 prisoners will have been freed by then. Insane.

Britain’s debt is now more than £3 trillion. The Government is borrowing just to pay the interest bill. Burnham’s EU fantasy is nothing but a distraction. But what has gone unnoticed by the Remainer media is the fact that the UK’s dire finances would rule out rejoining! EU rules state that national debt should be below 60% of GDP; the UK’s is approaching 100%. And the EU’s deficit limit is 3%. The UK’s is 4.2%. When these rules were drawn up, the concerns centred on Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain – the so-called ‘PIGS’. Today, the UK Government pays higher interest rates on its borrowing than any of them. Sadly, we are now at the bottom of the sty…
PM reiterates what he has previously said, that he'd like the UK to rejoin the EU at some point in his lifetime @GMB

Labour’s manifesto promised no return to freedom of movement. Andy Burnham told Makerfield that he would respect the Brexit vote. Now Lab wants Britain to rejoin the EU’s free movement rules, but Angela is gaslighting us into believing that they aren’t.

Alex Norris - Labour's anonymous Justice Secretary - lied to you. He promised every criminal released early would be tagged. He said it would be the toughest regime ever. Now the police are so overwhelmed they're scaling back enforcement of tag breaches.

Heartbreaking & another policy that’s self destructive
“The effects of the family farm tax means we will lose the farm. We are the smallest farm locally. But we have an inheritance tax liability of £600,000. That’s unsustainable for us.”

This is yet another example of Burnham’s foot in mouth syndrome. He hasn’t thought this through or the implications. Most people who voted for Brexit did so because they didn’t want free movement. Too many politicians have failed to understand the significance and impact of immigration on communities. We have had more than enough experience of what happens when politicians (including previous Conservative governments) promise control but fail to deliver it. The answer is to learn from those mistakes, not reopen free movement.

Andy Burnham sold an utterly false prospectus to his own electorate just weeks ago👇 This was, sadly, always the plan. If there was one single aspect of the EU that the majority who voted to leave objected to most, it was surely free movement, and yet that’s what he wants.

The SNP cannot be trusted with taxpayers money. The state is too big. Spending is too high. Scottish taxpayers should not be paying millions each year for jobs that don’t exist. Yes, redundancies are tough. But the private sector has to and does make these decisions. And it’s doing so increasingly at the moment given how business is being treated by both Governments. 👉 When will SNP start respecting the public’s money?

We haven't built a reservoir in this country since 1992. So, increasingly, people are being left without running water, for days at a time. It can't go on like this. We have to take on the blockers who veto every project, and get Britain building.

Andy Burnham, May 2026: "It’s going to undermine everything I’ve said about strengthening democracy if we don’t respect that vote." He has opened the door to Britain rejoining the EU’s free movement rules. Nobody voted for this. He lied to Makerfield. A complete betrayal.

People who want us to pay slavery reparations are not only ignorant of history. They want to impoverish their constituents to compensate those who have never been wronged. Slavery existed in every culture and every generation of world history. Only the British stopped it.
A stolen watch doesn’t become yours just because you pass it down to your children. So why apply a different rule to stolen labour, wealth and land? Reparations are about inherited benefit and inherited loss. Time doesn’t erase injustice.
