The Sorrowful Figure
Sancho Panza suspects his master is worse than he thought. Don Quijote turns every beating into glory, every humiliation into restraint, and accepts only his own version.
A Magnific Originals production, written & directed by @Cont_animation
Don Quixote saw giants where everyone else saw windmills
Guille & Javi saw a film

This is where Contanimation TV begins.
Contanimation TV is an anthology of shorts about the ways we escape reality.
What better place to start than a loose adaptation of literature's greatest escapist, Don Quixote?
La Triste Figura is our take on a character we love, and one we consider a cornerstone of our own culture and of world literature.
The full story is coming soon to YouTube, follow us to stay tuned.

Today we are happy to announce Contanimation TV
Our new short film anthology in partnership with @magnific Originals!
We will be sharing more original stories, new ways of working with AI, and collaborations with amazing artists.
Thanks to the Magnific team for trusting us with the project. 😎
Super excited to share the first chapter soon!
Contanimation has mutated.
Again.
What started as two directors experimenting with a new way of making films has slowly become something much bigger: an independent studio, a growing body of work, collaborations with people we admire and, increasingly, worlds of our own that we want to build properly.
Somewhere along the way, the old Contanimation stopped looking like the Contanimation we were becoming.
So we contaminated that too.
We created a new identity and developed a new website 👉 contanimation.com/

Issue 3: Video & Production
How we combined AI animation, human voice acting, voice design, art direction, and many, many generations to shape the final piece. 👇
Voices generated directly inside video tools usually come with several issues. The first one is that they tend to feel lifeless. More like voice-over than actual acting.
The second is that the timbre often changes from one shot to another.
And the third is the accent. From one shot to the next, the voice can suddenly jump from Spanish from Spain to Argentinian or Mexican Spanish.
We collaborated with Juan Rabadán, a professional voice actor and dubbing artist we had already worked with on our short film Dale caña.
Juan dubbed the text over the already animated characters, interpreting each one with different nuances, rhythms, and intentions.
The timbre was modified afterwards using ElevenLabs, with voices created from scratch through its Voice Design tool.
The production, in numbers:
7,500+ generated images
400+ generated videos
100+ generated songs
70 hours of art, animation, and music generation
25 hours of editing
The final cut includes 70 shots.
A huge number of attempts to find the right take, and countless creative decisions to reach the final result.
This is what our timeline looked like after 95 hours of work.
