‘You bet we’ll be back’: B.C. NDP stalwart on the party regrouping after defeat ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article…

The BC Conservatives promise $11.1 billion in tax cuts despite projecting massive deficits. Businesses would receive hundreds of millions in tax exemptions, while ordinary British Columbians could face the consequences if reduced revenue leads to cuts in essential services. #bcpoli #cdnpoli
Imagine your child waiting months for medical treatment because hospitals lack resources. Your child's school losing classroom support. Your rent climbing because affordable housing projects have been delayed. These are the risks families could face if the province struggles to fund public services.
Even more concerning, the Conservatives plan to take $2 billion from BC's $5 billion emergency contingency fund and count it as savings. That money is set aside for unexpected costs, including wildfires, healthcare emergencies and rising demand for essential services.
Imagine a wildfire forcing your family to evacuate. Firefighters need equipment, displaced residents need shelter, and communities need money to rebuild. Reducing emergency reserves doesn't make those costs disappear. It leaves the province with less money set aside to respond.
Or imagine your elderly parent waiting in an overcrowded emergency room while hospitals urgently need additional funding. A smaller contingency fund leaves the government with fewer options to address unexpected pressures without borrowing or cutting elsewhere.
The Conservatives also rely on economic growth far above independent forecasts. If those predictions fail, BC could collect less revenue than expected, forcing difficult choices between additional debt and reduced services.
Economist Jim Stanford estimates their financial assumptions could leave BC with annual deficits exceeding $15 billion.
The tax cuts would take billions out of provincial revenue while leaving less money in emergency reserves. If hospitals need more funding, housing projects fall behind or wildfires strike, British Columbians could face the consequences.

Surrey is high energy, entrepreneurial and one of the most diverse places in the country. Right here in Cloverdale, the new Surrey hospital is rising out of the ground. It’s the largest health care investment south of the Fraser, ever.
It was great to be here with Steven Dooley, who ran SFU’s Surrey campus and helped get the new medical school over the finish line. We’ve done a lot for Surrey, and we’re not done yet. Let’s keep building B.C. strong.

BC NDP Leader David Eby made a campaign bus stop at the new Surrey hospital site in Cloverdale, reaffirming his commitment to complete key healthcare and transit projects. Eby criticized the BC Conservatives’ $25M proposal for a third hospital as unfeasible, promising that if the community needs a third hospital or a specialized Women and Children’s hospital, the NDP will fully fund and deliver it alongside local leaders.

The @bcndp has been using every tool in the tool box to deliver more homes and reduce housing costs.
And it’s making a difference!
But the BC Conservatives will undo it all. Their wealthy donors would rather see housing scarcity and skyrocketing home prices. #BCPoli
Lorne Doerkson won't answer media questions about his plan - but Elections BC filings show he's been busy with private fundraisers for max donors.
At this one yesterday, he promised to scrap David Eby’s housing plan, which would send housing costs skyrocketing again.
With two more private fundraisers today, what else is he promising donors that British Columbians will pay for?

YIKES again! 😳
Does @Margare7a stand by this? What about @LDoerkson?

lol is this you? You won’t even answer local media questions about all the conspiracy theories you’ve posted, and you’ve been elected as an MLA
My dad was a lawyer, and he used to tell me: no matter what happens, lawyers always win. And if the Conservatives bring personal injury lawyers back into our car insurance system, that’s exactly what will happen. The Conservatives want the lawyers to win big and they want you to pay for it.
When a leader can't explain his own plan, voters can't make an informed choice. Lorne Doerkson has made more than $5 billion a year in new promises, with no plan to pay for them.
While Doerkson dodges, we're building. Our BC NDP team is delivering 250 new and expanded school projects, including a new high school for Coquitlam-Burke Mountain.
David Eby has a plan, and you know how we'll pay for it.
There's only one clear choice to keep building a strong B.C., and that's the BC NDP.

🧵It’s interesting that @Conservative_BC candidate @Margare7a for Vancouver Yaletown would associate with such a controversial figure as Othman. Bunch of former staffers there too. The photo got taken down after she liked his posted photo. #bcpoli

Newton is growing fast, and the people who live there deserve SkyTrain at their doorstep. A BC NDP government will work with Surrey to bring it down King George Boulevard.
Mayor McCallum and I got SkyTrain to Langley moving together. Let’s do it again for Newton.

I'm honoured to have the support of my friend, MP @Taleeb. Throughout my career as a police officer and public servant, my commitment has always been to keep our community safe and strong.
The choice in Vancouver-Yaletown couldn't be clearer: protecting and strengthening our public healthcare with the BC NDP, or risking multi-billion-dollar cuts to local hospitals and care services.
