There's a new provider for Swindon's GP out-of-hours service this morning. But don't worry, getting hold of a doctor outside of normal hours stays the same - call 111 to arrange an appointment.

Happiness at school is more important than academic qualifications. That's according to a major report from the @LSEnews which says it should be factored into the curriculum. This school in Dartford holds 'healthy minds' lessons:

Daily conference calls are not the answer to expediting discharges. More importantly it's understanding the flow across the system #Homefirst

It’s a great report .... does anyone have experience of running proactive community MDTs (including with GPs) to help pre-empt crisis & emergency admissions for older people with dementia & frailty? It takes an average 2hrs 50mins to go 289 miles from #Newcastle to #London but 5hrs 30mins to go 284 miles from #Penzance to #London. Even longer when your train breaks down trying to get the coffee machine working. This is just not OK. @GWRHelp #RailFail cornwalllive.com/news/news-o…

Flu is very infectious and spread by germs from coughs and sneezes. To reduce the risk of spreading flu, use tissues when you cough or sneeze, bin used tissues and wash your hands often. Catch it. Bin it. Kill it: bit.ly/2D4kUXe

Worth remembering 1) now only a minority of people actually get local authority social care 2) younger adults accounting for the biggest social care spending growth. Fixing social care only part of the solution to the NHS problem
