Criminal ice officers will know longer be able to take safe harbor in Texas. This new attorney general will not allow that.

As I've said before - if people put as much energy into tackling crises (Covid, climate change) as they do into pretending there are no such crises, we'd be in a far better position now.
Abolish ICE, the most destructive and unAmerican government project in my lifetime. The GOP has thrown money at these thugs, when we could use the money to pay down debt, extend food and medical care.

I spent two years working with Stephen Miller.
His appointment as White House chief of staff is among the most dangerous personnel decisions in the history of our republic.
I say that without reservation.
Measles keeps growing😫
83 new cases of measles reported today.
Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin reported cases.
I backfilled 10 reported cases for my own county here in New York, since my brain subconsciously refused to see the correct caseload on Tuesday night.
For the folks who have hanging out here with me for even a fraction of the last 2434 days, y'all already know we are living in my own special version of hell because I live with Common Variable Immune Deficiency and mitochondrial complex II deficiency during multiple pandemics and the resurgence of epidemic pathogens.

WHO THE HELL DID MELANIA TRUMP WELCOME TO THE WHITE HOUSE YESTERDAY?
Well, this gets better. And by “better,” I mean a spectacular fucking disaster.
Yesterday, Melania Trump publicly thanked Russian official Yana Lantratova for her humanitarian work.
How sweet.
One tiny detail: Lantratova is under US sanctions, and Ukrainian authorities have accused her of involvement in the abduction and forced transfer of children from occupied Kherson.
But wait. That's just the appetizer.
Lantratova also happens to be co-chair of the International Club of National Unity, a Russian organization established in 2025 to promote Moscow's interests abroad under the charming banner of “traditional spiritual and moral values.”
And what a delightful little club it is!
Her fellow co-chair is Mykola Azarov, Ukraine's former prime minister, who fled to Russia after Euromaidan.
Its leadership includes Aleksandr Dugin, the ideologue of Russian imperialism; Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat forces; senior Kremlin officials, propagandists, and assorted professional Putin enthusiasts.
Now comes the really juicy part.
The club's published membership list includes Sergey Panteleyev, identified by the European Union as an officer of GRU Unit 54777, the Russian military intelligence outfit described by The Washington Post as a nerve center of Moscow's psychological warfare operations.
And sitting on the club's presidium? Aleksandr Ionov, a man the US Justice Department charged with orchestrating an FSB-directed influence operation involving American political organizations, Russian propaganda, and interference in US elections.
Yes. That American Justice Department.
The international cast is equally entertaining.
The club has published the names of Tucker Carlson, Jeffrey Sachs, Scott Ritter, and former CIA analyst Larry Johnson in various roles or membership lists. Carlson's name later disappeared; Ritter has participated in club events, while Johnson remains listed on its presidium. A name appearing on a Russian organization's website does not, by itself, establish someone's consent to membership.
And for a little extra flavor, there's Viktor Bout, the notorious Russian arms dealer once imprisoned in the United States.
This isn't some secret dossier leaked by an intelligence agency.
THE RUSSIANS PUT THE FUCKING ROSTER ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE.
The club produces propaganda programming, organizes international events, and promotes Russian political narratives abroad. Researchers were examining its intelligence connections well before yesterday's White House circus.
So let's appreciate the full absurdity.
At an event supposedly devoted to helping Ukrainian civilians suffering under Russian occupation, the First Lady of the United States publicly honored a Russian official accused of involvement in the forced transfer of Ukrainian children.
An official who also co-chairs a Kremlin-aligned influence network whose published roster includes a GRU officer and a man charged by the US government with working for the FSB.
And Melania thanked her for bringing hope and dignity to victims of the war.
You couldn't write this shit as satire. The writers would reject it for being too fucking ridiculous.
Apparently, the new White House humanitarian protocol is simple:
Accused of taking Ukrainian children? Come on in!
Connected to a propaganda club featuring Russian military intelligence? Lovely!
Under American sanctions? Don't be shy!
Welcome to the White House. Would you like a medal with your propaganda?

For years, my dad battled Parkinson’s disease. On Election Night, I got to tell him, “Pop, we won.”
This morning, he passed away.
A part of me believes he held on just long enough to see his son make it to Congress.
He won’t be there when I’m sworn in. But I know he’ll be standing right beside me.
Rest easy, Daddy. I’ll take it from here. These next two years are for you ❤️
