Source: Vertical Slice Disappointed, but definitely not surprised. So much of what’s said reflects very much how many of us felt, as it was quite obvious for the last 10-15 years. Risk-averse development, “do less” mentality, cost-cutting..etc. I feel really bad for the studios and talents that had to be suffocated under EA’s mentality. It’s obvious what kind of people they were ever since they tried to gaslight gamers into thinking single player gaming to be dead.

EA were far too merciful keeping Bioware alive as long as it did. Arguably their last good game was DA Origins (released nearly 2 decades ago!) and last somewhat successful game was DA Inquisition. You can't have 3 FLOPS IN A ROW and stay afloat without consequences.

Bioware died in 2011.

No. Veilguard (and Anthem and Andromeda) did a lot of damage to Bioware. Honestly, EA gave Bioware a long ass leash. Most companies do not get to release 3 flops in a row before they are closed

When you realize ME2 is just a sideplot with characters who desperately need therapy, it really diminishes the impact. You could cut it and like 90% of ME3 could happen as it does.
