Current description of my life:
A soul in tension that's learning to fly/
Condition grounded but determined to try/
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies/
Tongue-tied and twisted, just an earthbound misfit, I.

I never ask to be thanked.
I never care about receiving it.
I like doing what I do, and don't need the thanks.
But if you send out an email thanking a bunch of people, and somehow my name gets left off that list, then what in the absolute heck am I still doing here?
Last night was a perfect reminder of why I haven't set foot in Brooklyn in over 17 years (and rest of that God forsaken hellhole in over 16).
I don't know what it is about that place that makes so many people turn out just awful.

Statement of Agudath Israel of America on House Passage of Permanent Daylight Saving Time
Today the U. S. House of Representatives passed the Sunshine Protection Act by a wide majority. Agudath Israel of America and its constituents understand the popular desire to “lock the clock.” We are concerned, however, that by choosing permanent daylight saving time (DST) for the entire country it will put children at risk and affect our religious practices.
Permanent DST would mean sunrises after 9 am in some parts of the country for weeks in the winter thereby causing many of America's schoolchildren to head for school - by foot, by bicycle, or by bus - in the pre-sunrise darkness amd putting them at increased risk.
For the Orthodox Jewish community, an unintended, yet compelling, consequence of such legislation is the effect it will have on our fundamental religious practices. In Jewish law, morning prayers, and the rituals associated with them, must be recited no earlier than at specified times. The later sunrise occurs; the later synagogue services must begin. The extension of DST will create an extreme hardship on observant Jews. It would be extraordinarily difficult - if not impossible - to arrive on time for a job and will effect the start time of our schools.
The last time this happened in the 1970's the popularity of the measure dropped dramatically once Americans experienced one dark winter and Congress had to reverse itself within a year.
We are hopeful that the Senate will consider all of the effects of DST and compare them to the effects of permanent standard time or maintaining the status quo before rushing into this major change.
This is your reminder that withholding a גט from your spouse during your divorce (for any "reason" whatsoever) is uncouth, downright abusive, and emblematic of you being a horrible person.
This applies in both directions.
I remember this day well. This was probably my lowest point during this excruciating job search.
Thankfully I didn't give up, and I'm starting a new gig May 11th!
Feeling so completely fucking useless right now.
15+ years of being a software developer and I can barely even get an interview.
I'm about ready to just fucking give up.
My father once told this joke to my mom's parents (who were originally from Eastern Europe).
The next day mom gets a call from her mom.
"Are you really spending so much money?"
"No, Mom, it's just a joke!"
"But in every joke there's a little bit of truth!" 🤣
Cannot wait for tomorrow when @chrisbrockman inevitably reiterates his correct point earlier in these playoffs that teams should just TAKE. THE. POINTS.

I will be unambiguous here.
We should seek to Abolish ICE. This has been the Libertarian position since the creation of ICE.
Here is a simple fact. If ICE hadn't been in Minnesota, Renee Good would be alive today.
We have seen at least 4 dead in ICE custody in just this month.
They are not well run, they are not being trained properly, and they are treating people both citizens and non-citizens alike without care or regard for safety. This is a feature of the organization, not a bug.
They are illegally entering private property without the appropriate warrant, they are illegally denying due process to those they interact with and detaining. There is no middle ground here.
The organization should be abolished, and pulled up root and stem and discarded from American government.
Democrats will dither here and there and say "we need better training for ICE" or " better recording of incidents".
No, we need to Abolish ICE.
The GOP are happy with the abuse
Democrats are being soft (as usual)
Libertarians won't be cowardly in our principles.
Abolish ICE!
