This weekend Darren and PD Luna took part in the South West Regional Police dog trials hosted by Avon and Somerset. They only completed their Initial Police course in December last year but still amazingly managed to achieve a qualifying score of 733. The future is bright. 👏

A day of mixed emotions. Today TPD Rex left me to go to his new handler Sgt James Little the OIC of the Cornwall Police dog unit. I’m very proud of what TPD Rex & I have achieved together over the last 6 weeks. I think he will be a perfect fit for James. Good luck big man. ❤️

PD Loxley has only been with the force since March this year but has already made a huge impact helping remove drugs from the streets of Dorset, this time by sniffing out drugs and cash at a home in Winton. #Op Scorpion #OpViper #NoPlaceForDrugs

High risk suspected sex offender arrested by officers refused to say where he had just come from. PD Gwen tracked from his location across a car park, road, fields into woodland locating a tent. The offenders phone located in the tent linked him to the offence. 👏

TPD Yaz with Darren and TPD Spy with Steve on their training day today. We covered tracking, criminal work, emergency recalls and person searching in a building. TPD Spy will be teaming up with his new handler Ray O’Hare Dorset Police dogs in August.

Today our Mali handlers Darren with TPD Yaz and Steve with TPD Spy were given a short trail for their dogs to follow to locate their toy hidden at the end of the track. A good effort from both teams as the handlers did not know where the track went & it was very dry & blustery.

With a heavy heart we say goodbye to PD Ollie who tragically passed away after a short illness. He was an exceptional Police Dog, saving numerous lives and locating suspects who simply wouldn’t have been found without his keen nose. Our thoughts are with his handler and family🐾
