Company recently got a new CEO. A white boomer. His Dad used to be the CEO. Can’t make this shit up. First order of business: fire people. Outsource admin to a large offshore Indian company. I have to message these Indians every day through a shitty ticketing system that looks like it was made in the 90s. They unironically use “kindly” and “do the needful”. I’m not kidding. The company sent them an email on how to speak English properly. Also, they cannot make a single decision for themselves. They flag everything for review. You just end up doing their job. I’m pretty sure 90% of them don’t even exist. They’ve convinced the company that it requires 50 people to do the administrative work, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a scam. The company is in the worst shape it’s ever been. Instead of doing anything about it, the boomer CEO has instead decided to renovate his office and the floor he works on.

About a year and a half ago I stopped actively/obsessively reading emails. I work at a big company somewhere between 15k and 20k people. I don't think anyone really knows. Got super sick and exhausted of reading emails that only said "Thank you" and "When are you available?" and "Let me get a call together." A one-liner payoff after waiting seconds for Outlook to load the stupid entire email thread. Something that could have been inconsequential over a group IM and read in microseconds because Teams loads instantly. It got to be days of pure exhaustion and frustration with emails used as Instant Messenger inside the company. It was forgivable enough with customers, but then even those inane emails got so tiresome I ignored them too. It got to the point where I realized it was physically impossible to load every email (because it took so fucking long), and sort all the threads (because sorting and filtering took so fucking long too), read every email, and take appropriate action while I was also on calls at least about half of the day. I would be sitting in front of my stupid computer for all my waking hours. I made a choice. I wasn't going to do it. I did manage my Teams IM’s and Outlook calendar like a hawk, though. I never missed a call. Except of course when an idiot didn't know how to look at basic calendar availability. I would get double and triple booked, but I stopped caring about that too. It was either a coin toss for attending a call, or first come, first served. Then I would just apologize in DM's that I had a conflicting meeting. Because everyone was victimized by double-booked or triple-booked meetings. Sometimes I felt bad after seeing that people were too dumb and incapable of contacting me through other means after they emailed two or three times. A call or Teams DM would have gotten them instantaneous results. I wondered, 'How many times will it take for Bob/Karen to realize that they can get an instant answer from me via Teams IM, 24hrs a day, any day, but rarely get a reply from email.' Sometimes I would reply and act like nothing was wrong, then never revisit the thread again. Bob/Karen and others seemed to never learn. Teams DM's were always answered promptly. Phone calls were always answered. Not that they knew how to use a phone. If I was already on the phone with a customer, then I would still be able to reply to IM, sometimes even when I was presenting. It was astonishing to watch and listen to people willingly fall into email abyss death spirals. They would complain about this customer or that customer who would never reply to countless emails. Well, did you ever try calling them? It was like they forgot they had a phone or forgot how to use it. It seems like people in big companies just want to sit behind a keyboard and send emails all day. Never make an actual human connection. I stopped feeling bad and have so much less stress without all the infinite email bullshit. And no one has yet to call me out. It's shocking. I am waiting for the day when someone calls me to say, "Do you ever read your emails?" To which I will say, "Of course I read emails. But there are too many of them. I appreciate your phone call!"

I was contracted to a large crypto-currency project famously used by hackers to launder hundreds of millions. The founder is currently being investigated on serious charges of rape. I would avoid using it if I were you, big chance he cuts a deal to snitch on his users.

I work for a fintech company and we’ve banned users from Africa and Indian users from signing up to our platform. They deliver 0 value. They’re painful to deal with. We had one African user slip through the cracks and try to scam us for $20. I hate minorities so much it’s unreal.

I had an internship at a FAANG company in Northern Europe. The salary was pretty low, but I was glad I landed something right after graduating from university. Anyway, my excitement lasted about a week. The office atmosphere was shit due to the constant fear of layoffs, my manager didn't have any tasks for me to do, and the other interns were really fucking gay. I overheard that basically no interns will get return offers. Despite this, I saw intern girls get invited to dinners, events and to take part in company videos, while I didn't even know these things were around. Their managers would connect them with high up executives in the company, give them cool projects to do, etc. These ladies weren't even good looking, btw. You should have seen just how smug these bitches were. These fucking hoes would constantly make bragadocious girl boss posts on social media, super condescending to others, and acting like they're some sort of elites because they got an internship at a tech firm. Anyway, I thought fuck this shit, and legitimately did nothing. Like literally nothing. I thought it'd be funny to see how far I can take it. And for half a year, I literally did nothing. I stayed home and watched TV. I drank a lot. Started learning another language. In the end my manager got fired, so it didn't even matter. Fuck them and their shit firm.

I worked on cable harnesses for SpaceX at a subcontractor. I would tape the wires together and one day I pulled a beard hair out and stuck it on the tape. A part of me is very likely in space now. I hated working on SpaceX parts at that subcontractor because I made less than a fast food worker in California.

It always makes me laugh when white collar wagies complain about their jobs or the Asmongolds of the world tell chuds to "just work in construction bro." I type this out on my lunch break after clearing shit out of a broken pipe I'm replacing in an Indian household, who I can hear in the other room haggle my boss in broken English for a 50 dollar discount on a 200 dollar job. This is my life huh. Cleaning shit pipes till the day I die.

Giving a company 7 years of your life, 12 hour days, constantly on call, watching your co-workers be replaced by cheap third world slaves, only to be let go on a Friday afternoon right before the weekend so your boss who promised you the world doesn't have to deal with the wagie crash out. You wanna know why the west is dying? The honest truth is rich boomers sold us out, have no concept of loyalty to their own, and do not care to leave a better world for their children. What a waste of my life.

I went from an in-office job to one with almost 20% higher pay, lower pressure, less accountability, and total work from home. I use the first 30 minutes of every workday to shit and shave, take 1 hour walks in addition to my lunch break, and use Friday afternoons to play on my PS4. I've gone from 4HL to 8HL because of no commute. I save twice as much per month in my new job. But I'm much unhappier than I was before. I've spent almost 8 months in my current job and it's a bureaucratic morass. The team I'm in is overly large. The paper pusher to technical person ratio is over 20:1. My job was sold as being senior and the next step in my career but I'm treated like a child by a grouchy middle aged cabal that runs the huge team. In theory, I should be deciding what the team does, but nothing I do comes anywhere close to that. I'm fed boring scraps of work and have no influence. I look around me, and everyone else is a pig feeding at the big company trough. My team is mostly consultants billing over twice my pay. The senior employees take over a month to answer emails. Another employee who's the same rank as me is in my team's "inner circle," which I am left out of, but the work they do looks like finger painting, as far as I can tell. In essence, my team functions by spending hundreds of thousands to decide how to spend tens of thousands. My manager doesn't really know what I do, but I worry that I'm going to be found out once he realises my annual goals have no chance of being met. He hasn't yet turned on me, but all my previous managers have, because I'm not a normie. My main hope is that senior leaders tear up my team due to it burning money and I land elsewhere. My only worry is the black mark of dismissal on my CV, so I may seem lucky, but it's so fucking dull.

Know a lot of people who would rather lick boots than do any work. In my office, one senior has surrounded themselves with boot lickers and that has divided the team. The senior is also a huge boot licker and does not know how to get work done. Nobody respects them.

I work for a pretty large and well-known American University as a student work study. I don't have a specific department that I always work in, so I help wherever they need me to maximize my hours. Last week, I was working with Financial Aid. It is important to note that the University is pretty old-fashioned, so they keep both physical and digital records. One of the Boomers asks me to shred a stack of files of students who are going home mid-semester. You are not supposed to look at the files since it is confidential information, but I'm curious. All of them are Black, Hispanic, and Indian. Mostly dropping out, academic integrity violations, and grades so bad they can't even pass requirements anymore after multiple semesters, but there are a couple of special ones, such as sexual harassment of a White student I know, a threat to kill a professor, fights and violent outbursts, destroying a dorm room so badly in rage that the University will have to completely rebuild it. I look further, most have similar accommodation plans to the one I had to fight tooth and nail to get recognized due to my disability, and I am treated like a joke by professors. I look at their financial aid and, on average, they all get an $2500 to $5000 in academic scholarships in addition to athletic scholarships and government grants they get. I am struggling to pay my bills since living on campus was more expensive than living off campus. These motherfuckers don't have to work; all they have to do is just shut the fuck up, play sports, and get a minimum of 70% grade in their classes, and they will graduate and take home pretty sizable refund checks every semester. But they can't even do that! All while I work my ass off and struggle to pay for even basic necessities! I fucking hate my life. I don't know why I even try anymore...

Independent mobile developer. Got approached by some boomers to fix an app made in India. The Indians took the money, delivered total crap then were long gone. The worst code ever. Complete lack of understanding of how programming works. Not even the basics. They didn't understand functions, every was hardcoded, insane work. These boomers promised me that I would do their next generation of apps if I fixed this one app for them. Unfixable crap. I did the best I could but we were starting from way too far. Still, the fixes were implemented and I almost gave up so bad everything was. Think 1000s of lines of hardcoded crap doing the same thing over and over again. Once I delivered, the boomers did a 180 on me and decided to "go with another shop" for the next generation of apps. Fast forward 6 months, I get a message from the boomers asking me to "connect with their team in India" because they need to understand a back-end part I did from scratch for them to be able to deal with the features they were asking back then. I told them to fuck off. This is why nobody gets a job anymore. They went back to outsourcing their app in India again to save a buck and asked the white guy to come save the day again.

I absolutely hate my job, I get bullied for my stutter and can't say anything because the guy doing all the bullying is my boss's son. I take comfort in the fact that I have a wife and 2 beautiful kids and they make waking up for work easy every day. The cage can't break me.

Sorry for writing a giant essay. Probably too long to even put into an image. It's a bit cathartic to type out, though, so if you (reasonably) decide not to publish a giant fucking book on Twitter, that's fine. I worked in a factory for maybe 6 months, a simple manufacturing job with lots of repetitive movements. Many found the tasks insufferably tedious and monotonous, but I got the hang of it quickly, optimizing it for efficiency so I didn't have to work as hard. Before long, I was the best at one of the two stations across all shifts, and the team leader with the biggest "go-getter" attitude called dibs on me every day, trying to make the best numbers possible. I didn't mind, as the high speed was engaging and almost fun at times. I liked our team, and got along well with most people. I'm a diagnosed sperg (they call it type 1 ASD now), and I can't stand watching others eat or being watched while eating. I found solitude on my lunch breaks on a mezzanine, usually eating cup ramen with Doritos smashed into it or even a hard boiled egg if I had them on hand, while gaming or browsing on my laptop. Unfortunately, one of my coworkers was a fat, leftist, self-diagnosed fake TikTok "autist," who snitched on me to the safety guy for my hidey-hole under the pretense of "safety." They banned me from the mezzanine, locking the door, and the prospect of having to sit in my cold car in the dead of winter just to have a dozen minutes of solitude with my stupid fucking ramen cup because of some nosy cunt was too much to bear. I sperged out a bit, making an ass of myself, but luckily, a couple coworkers vouched for me to my supervisor, who was a top-notch dude and let me use a small meeting room to eat in peace. As time went on, the bullshit piled on as well; the mandatory overtime I was promised wouldn't happen came to my department. Department meetings consisted of empty platitude bullshit from H.R. spinsters and stuffy old dudes who sat in air-conditioning most of the day, talking about "team effort" while the factory floor was stuffy and hot from thousands of propane burners. Nagging and negging and gaslighting bullshit, nonstop, always getting in the way of us just doing our jobs. I became more and more miserable as time went on, and my night drinking spilled into the day. I started putting whiskey into my Monster Ultras, always having a small bottle of Jameson under the car seat to get me through the day. And yet, my performance remained great; except for when I was put onto the other task, which I invariably sucked ass at, and hated doing. The machine piled more and more boxes up, and I'd get overrun to the point of the machine having to be shut down to deal with the overflow, if it didn't jam up first. It frustrated me, made me feel like an abject failure. I would start shivering, and my heart would pound in my chest when I was assigned to that task. Still, even if my best was shit, I still did my best, and when I was at my usual station, everything was smooth sailing. It all came to a head, however, when the time came for yearly raises; a month or two earlier, everyone in my pay grade supposedly got a $1 raise. Now that it was time to get another, I was rather excited. My supervisor gushed about my high performance, and gassed me up about how above-average my raise would be. Cool, I thought. But when I saw the paper, I was confused; it seemed like what I should be getting in the first place, given the previous blanket raise. I asked him about it, and he waved it away, "No, that's base pay for everyone in this pay grade; this is normal." Like an idiot, wanting to get back out on the floor, I signed the paper. Still tentative about it, I asked the guy directly below him overlooking the floor, "No, that's not right. You should be making a dollar more. After the 4th of July weekend, go talk to H.R." I was a bit shaken. I asked a coworker on my usual team. "What the fuck? No, they're fucking you." Now I was panicking. I asked the high-school part-timers what their base pay was; it was a dollar more than what my supervisor had insisted it was. Rather than doing the smart thing and documenting everything to bring up to H.R. and perhaps seek legal counsel for wage theft, I completely lost it. A pathetic, screaming meltdown about how I was getting fucked, followed by throwing a steel stand and punching a hole through a standing whiteboard with tears clogging my eyes. I was promptly told to leave and await the day I come back to discuss my inevitable termination. When that day came, the H.R. bitch asked me questions about my thoughts, only to immediately provide politely worded cop-outs from behind a venomous smile in a way that only an overpaid middle-aged cunt at a desk could. I haven't had a job since. That was almost two and a half years ago. In the meantime, I've found ways to be useful to my family in ways that only a NEET with free time can. But I'll be off my mom's health insurance next month, and I'm quite behind on bills, so I need to make money soon, but the very thought of subjecting myself to the humiliation ritual all over again makes me sick to my stomach. I know I'll fuck it all up again. I can't even coordinate the paperwork and transportation for appointments to get on some kind of disability, and I'm probably not brown enough to get gibs from Uncle Sam anyway. I even get stuck on unclear questions on job applications; not that it matters when an algorithm will throw it out on account of the gap anyways. I have no choice but to try my best, but I have a very bad feeling about my prospects.
