Because Ukraine was never beyond possibility.
Because a trained reserve and a high will to defend the country remain foundations of Finland’s defence.
Because, as Hillel said, "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?"

Finland supplied these Xa-181 based Crotale-NG:s, not France as they don't have any. It's strictly s Finnish variant.
Ukraine’s 1039th Air Defense Regiment just released a massive compilation of the unit’s French-supplied Crotale SAM systems shooting down Russian air targets.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video compilation shows Finnish ItO 90M Crotale NG systems on Sisu XA-181 6x6 chassis supplied by Finland, not French-supplied variants (Ukraine has received separate French Crotale systems).

Yksi kansalaisaloitteemme perusteluista.

Spoke with President of Finland @alexstubb and Prime Minister of Norway @jonasgahrstore following their call today with the Russian leader and as a continuation of our discussions in Oslo with representatives of America, Europe, and NATO. I am grateful for the detailed briefing and for their active support for our diplomacy and the peace efforts we are pursuing together with all our partners.
Alex and Jonas made it clear to the Russian leader that real de-escalatory steps are needed regarding our energy and infrastructure. We discussed preparations for the trilateral meeting planned for November at the team level – Ukrainian, American, and Russian. Finland and Norway, as countries that border Russia, have a particular interest in sound and reliable security arrangements. We also discussed various formats for our engagement with partners in Europe that could be useful in further supporting diplomacy, our defense, and our shared security.
There must be peace, de-escalation is needed, and Russia must stop dragging out the war. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine!
The carrier versus carrier battle that almost happened in the early days during the Falkland’s war remains one of the great ’What if’s’ of naval warfare post-WWII.

Good read!
...and for my Swedish followers I give my view of the Aftonbladet/DI controversy on the #Aster B1NT.

Concerning...
"Industry insiders have told @NavyLookout that two more of the five remaining Type 23s will almost certainly have to be declared unseaworthy in the next few months [while delivery of the new Type 26 & Type 31 frigates seemingly continues to slip]."

Finnish donated Crotale-NG SAMs on a 6x6 Pasi platform shown for the first time in Ukrainian service.
So the mystery supplier of Crotale launchers Zelensky mentioned a while ago was indeed Finland.

This VERY shady individual, Armando Mema, portrays himself as a “Finnish politician” while conveniently hiding the fact that he has not been elected to anything
He spreads literal russian propaganda in both English and Finnish
This is how russian propaganda operates in Finland.
I'm a great admirer of Kasparov, but this is just poor analysis. Are there anything indicating other European countries would be weaker than Ukraine? Historically, attacking cities have rarely broken the spirit of the population or the leadership - and this includes in Europe.
I know some European countries score low on "Would you want your country to continue fighting with uncertain outcome if attacked?", but to an extent that is what people say in peace, and if actually attacked "let's draft our youth to beat the barbarians"-spirit tend to kick in.

"Within meters" sounds... very close. In fact, even 1-2 km is very close. This does not look good at all.

@CorporalFrisk - contract signed. Looks like Germany will soon be the biggest operator of the M18. 15 boats ordered now. Official requirement for 2035 stands at “40+”, per Kurs Marine.
Das Bundeswehr-Beschaffungsamt BAAINBw hat mit dem finnischen Bootsbauer Marine Alutech Oy Ab einen Vertrag zur Beschaffung von 15 Mehrzweckkampfbooten des Typs Watercat M18 AMC geschlossen.
