Questionable readings of our investment have produced serious losses, driven by the FA charges against Manchester City. We want this clear. The group provided services and financial support for the running of the club, and for payments due to associate parties. That is what an owner does. We have issued statements. We have opened channels with the English FA. Certain elements inside the association are now bent on damaging the reputation of this group. That will not stand. City have been dragged into this and have already taken significant losses. We have continued to support the club and to put money in, so the operation stays stable. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has never paid for, or acknowledged, fraudulent activity. We are disappointed. We will fight this case, and we will fight anyone whose aim is to ruin that reputation. We found the club, and the city around it, in a poor state.
